    GRRRRRR!!!

It's a cute little poodle. Mother-in-law went up to Dayton, TX and got 2 pups from a litter. We got a female and sister-in-law and her daughter got a male. I must admit the thing is really cute and won me over in about 5 seconds.

So poodle owners, give me some advice. Much appreciated. Some friends of mine have had poodles so I know a little bit. Any breed specific health issues to be on the lookout for? Dietary suggestions. The reason this is so hard for me is I like to obsessively plan and do homework ahead of time. When I'm not at work, every waking moment for the next month or two will be dedicated to soaking up every fact about poodles known to mankind. ;)

A poodle is in the top 3 as far as dog intelligence is concerned. They are good dogs, very trainable.

Yeah yeah, good and well. But how do I get the thing to be quiet and stop squeaking and crying? It's going to be a rough the first couple of nights. :(

Let it grow up. :p You might try putting a large wind-up clock with it where it sleeps. The tick-tocking might make it feel like it has company.

Medium sized poodles and up are are good dogs. the smallest are kinda a pain in the ass like chihuahuas.

My grandma and step mother had some when I was growing up. They are very smart and active.

The best thing is they don't shed and are faily non algernic.

We have a German Shepard that sheds like crazy. Best dog I've ever owned but it wreaks havoic on my son and wife's allergies.

My next dog will be the super new hybrid Golden Doodle if I can get past the stupid name.

Good luck with your new puppy. Get the dog and yourself some training while the dog is young if you are an experience dog owner and you won't be sorry.

There is nothing worse than a poorly behaved smart dog. A smart dog that obeys your comands on the other hand, is a great thing.

I've loved Golden Doodles, and I've wanted one for about two years now. Eventually, I'll get one.

I ran into a guy walking his Golden Doodle once, and was so impressed by it, that I talked to him about the dog for like 10 minutes. Yeah, nerd city right there.

Anyways, I always wanted to get a poodle and grow his hair out. Then, shave everything but the hair on the top of his head, making him have a fro.

Don't shoot it... or support anyone who's had to shoot their dog, whatever you do. ;)

if they've never had a dog before expect them to neglect it once the novelty wears off. you'll be the one ending up having to walk it and clean up afterwards. taking home a dog on a whim is usually a bad thing.

as for dietary suggestions, the best food is raw food. but if you're afraid of that, go to this place and get your kibble there,

    link

do NOT buy kibble from your local grocery store or Petsmart. all those brands have ingredients full of grains which isn't good for your dog. when you read the label, the first two ingredients should be a meat. just look up reviews for the dog foods and you'll see the ones in the grocery stores and Petsmart are usually at the bottom of the list.

Off the subject but I noticed this guy is wearing crocs. My girlfriend just bought a pair of crocs for this little boy we babysit sometimes. I always thought this type of footwear was for girls, does this prove me right or do guys actually wear those things too?
