Almost confirms that we will not get him.. The proposed deal, which isn’t imminent, would send Carter, Keyon Dooling and Eduardo Najera to the Mavericks for Josh Howard and Jerry Stackhouse. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...?slug=aw-carternets021209&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
Tried it on the trade machine and it said it doesnt work, but there probably would be other players from the Nets. But sounds like a steal for the Spurs to me, talent wise. The big 4?
no we want sheed wallace theres about a 10 page issue on spurstalk about its about a 90% chance sheed is coming to san antonio
Rasheed Wallace would be a huge acquisition. Better fit than Carter IMO. Especially with Pops coaching, Spurs are looking at 2 championships in 3 years with Wallace. Assuming they resign him and don't lose much.
Wallace will probably walk anyways so expirings, Hill or Oberto, coupled with a decent draft pick may do the trick.
yah it was on some sports radio station in detroit there saying that its almost a done deal but you cant really rely on them but it supposed to be finley and oberto for sheed but the salarys dont match up and thats a horrible trade for detroit so im thinking that the spurs will give up vaughn and udoku and possibly matt bonner who i dont want to give up but theres been saying that detroit wants hill in the backcourt with stucky but hill is going to be something special in a few years so i would hate to give him up the only thing working for the spurs is they got to big guys that they got in the first round the last few years who have yet to play in a spurs uniform ian mihmmi from france who they compare him to a skinnier shawn kemp i think he looks like a poor mans kevin garnett with no outside shot and a okay defender and tiago splitter from brazil who some say was a steal in the draft but is signed over there till 2010 so i hope the spurs give them his rights because his buy out will be big and also spurs have 2.5 million in cap space right now and espn said the rasheed wallace wants to play for san antonio its all up to joe dumars for us to get get our 5th ring imagine wallace duncan finley(they were talkinga bout buying him out also and returning in 30 days like what we did with brent barry last year) money mason parker kurt thomas matt bonner bruce bowen manu ginobili george hill malik hairston(he's going to be a beast soon also and has mad hops) i don't think the lakers could match up with that espically without bynum
Josh Howard has a team option in 2010-2011 so I guess technically he meets New Jersey's "Nothing Past 2010" criteria. It seems plausible from both sides although if I were Rod Thorn i'm asking myself do I really want a headcase and shaky locker room guy like Howard around my young guys.
new jersey does not want to trade their leader in carter for josh "im too street to be american" howard. You can bank on that.
great deal for Mavs, and Nets if they don't want to make the playoffs. I don't see Josh Howard as one of the two top options in the team. Big 3 of Devin Harris Josh Howard Brook Lopez Seeing as there has been reports that all 3 Texas teams has shown interest in Vince Carter....wonder wat we've been offering for Vince? Maybe Artest + Luther Head + Rafer Alston + Von Wafer + Draft pick for Vince Carter and Keyon Dooling ???
Why don't they just trade team names. I for one Welcome this trade because Mark cuban is a Moron. Jason Kidd trade was a DISASTER! You can't just throw all-stars on a team, let alone in mid season and expect to be the Celtics. Carter has a huge 3 year deal too so that puts them in a bind for 2010 when Dirk's up for free agency. The Mavs FO (eeeer Mark Cuban) is the perfect example of how NOT to run a franchise. You can't solve problems by throwing money at it.
