Out of all the people on our team i want handling the ball when were down by two with less than a min to go, y did we have rafer handling the ball, heck y did we have him in the game. You want a play made u put in brooks. You wanna go one on one give it to yao or wafer who have been giving them hell all night. Not to mention wafer didnt get a chance to take a shot at all in last 5 or so minutes. My main point is rafer is horrible and out of all the people on our team rafer should be one of the last people touching the ball when we need to score
“Coach wanted me to get in the lane after hitting the floater to cut it to two,” Alston said. “It was a good shot. I got to convert the two (free throws).”
cmon. rafer just hit a runner before. he had a legitimate chance of hitting that shot. i have no problem with the shot selection, (just dont like the fact that he missed it, and the two free throws) GO RAFER ALSTON and the Rockets
Rafer was always facing no defense. He can go anywhere and choose whatever way to brick: 3 pointers, midrange, floaters, layups, ..... now free throws, Adelman thought Rafer could make free throws. oh boy, he was wrong, but it was a good play. Back to the topic, why Rafer had the ball? Lakers wanted that way.
I STILL dont understand why he doesnt just use the backboard on those damn floaters. The sQuare is there for a reason, for bad shooters like him
He had the ball because the Lakers intentionlly covered everybody else. Rafer did EXACTLY what you'd want him to do ...except the missing both freethrows part. Even hitting one freethrow would have been fine ...but BOTH!
He had the ball in the final seconds because Landry didn't want to take the shot. He was on the court only because Brooks was off the whole game.
He actually was wide open on the floater. He did a good job of getting the rebound and getting fouled. I don't see any problem with that. Missing them is another story.
Rafer should not be in the game towards the end. We need people that can hit shots, especially with TMAC and Ron out. However, with Brooks struggling the whole game, not much of a choice left. Credit Lakers for playing great D at the end by covering up everyone else and forcing Rafer to shoot. I still can't believe he didn't make atleast one free throw. O well. Today's a new day.
After t-mac and artest, rafer is the best guy who can create from the perimeter. We saw what brooks did...he's just too inexperienced and the problem with brooks is that he can shoot over players because of his size, so when the defense comes and takes the drive away from him he's forced to pass. Rafer can get around and is a funamentally better passer than brooks. It was the right decision to put the ball in rafers hands. It's unfortunate rafer chokes first on an easy shot and then on ft's.

Possession here, missed shot there. LoL. Your missed shots!
Im sorry i dont care how off brooks is in a game i still know he is a much better shooter and creator than rafer and i would trust him more, notice when we needed a three rafer came out, y not have him out to begin with because at least with brooks in the game they have to guard him unlike wide open horrible shooting rafer
Missed semi open layup or finger roll if he knew how to do anything besides way off floaters and missed free throws to be specific lol
