What I did was got a cable wire and took it through the attic and then ran it across some walls. It works perfectly and you can't see any wires. Or just spend the 100 bucks and get the wireless network adapter. But if you do get one make sure to use 802.11a. G will work too, but don't use B!!

Well, you can buy a long wire and go under the carpent from the corners. Thats what I have done.

I've heard connecting the modem and xbox wirelessly causes lag while playing.

That's why I still haven't bought one...I'll will, but man, I have to spend another $100 to go Live as my wireless modem is in another room...

xbox 360 accessaries are way too expensive. I also hate those game that have you use "market points" to buy new features. Why can't they just give em out for free? I pay enough for the games already.

I really can't think of any other options except for the wireless adapter or get the really really long cable.

They are the same price as comparable accesories from other consoles.

Also, you think you won't ahver to pay for the "Live" ripoff extras that Sony offers?

I have the wireless adaptor, I use it as a wireless media player backend to windows media center.. The way I look at it was a great bargain considering I was going to buy a D-Link, Linksys or Creative wireless media player so it was saving me money by going with the adaptor over the separate boxes.. plus I have a good friend that works on the main Seattle Microsoft campus and gets me all the x-box accessories I want for less than half price.. I currently run mine on 802.11G along with 2 computers connected wirelessly and the 360 is about 75 feet away from the router in a full entertainment center and I have yet to have any lag on Live, but I do pull 7mbps down at home though.. Just FYI, you don’t have to buy the Microsoft brand adaptor on the 360, other USB adaptors will work..

I really don't recommend USB wireless adapters. The problem is that the data doesn't transmit over USB perfectly and as a result you'll get latency and lag issues all the time.

Maybe the technology improved but I had computers that used those a few years ago and it was just annoying as hell to deal with those.

If the xbox doesn't have some type of wireless card slot and you have to rely on the USB adapter then I would do anything I could to get a wired connection.
