Xbox 360 Warranty-Can you help?

    Can you help my friend out? Im ToyCen428 and he is WallySzczerbs

    WallySzczerbs: you got any warranties from sams club?

    ToyCen428: why
    WallySzczerbs: they SUCCCCCCCk

    WallySzczerbs: my brothers xbox broke

    WallySzczerbs: its been a huge hassle
    WallySzczerbs: my brother bought a xbox from samsclub
    WallySzczerbs: bought an extended 3 year warranty
    WallySzczerbs: a year passes and the main MS warranty is bad
    WallySzczerbs: it breaks
    WallySzczerbs: we call SAMs club about the warranty.

    WallySzczerbs: they have us mail it to this product service warranty place
    ToyCen428: and?
    WallySzczerbs: they didnt say what exactly theyd be doing
    ToyCen428: so youve mailed it?
    WallySzczerbs: but three weeks go by and they tell us IT CANT BE FIXED
    WallySzczerbs: after opening it up and trying to fix it, they say theyll send it to microsoft
    ToyCen428: the 360 or the basic xbox?

    WallySzczerbs: so MS gets it
    WallySzczerbs: they say the WARRANTY is VOID because its been opened
    ToyCen428: lol
    WallySzczerbs: then they say there gonna ship it back to this walter hopp guy in Philadelphia
    ToyCen428: huh!?!?
    WallySzczerbs: i dont know whats going on
    WallySzczerbs: now MS wants receipts and crap
    WallySzczerbs: then they look on their computers and see a registered xbox 360 to walter hopp. which is MINE
    WallySzczerbs: my brotheres was never officially registered online
    WallySzczerbs: so there confused.
    WallySzczerbs: its like theyve NEVER done this before
    WallySzczerbs: THE SYSTEM BROKE. we send to the warranty PEOPLE
    WallySzczerbs: now were on the phone 2-3 hours a day
    WallySzczerbs: fighting for it back
    WallySzczerbs: its like something youd see with small companies
    WallySzczerbs: but this is sams club
    WallySzczerbs: why do we have to explain to MS what this product service place did to my system
    WallySzczerbs: why arent they communicating with each other

    You should have called 1-800-4MYXBOX first. Mine just broke. It's still under the MS Warranty. I also have a Best Buy 2 year extended product replacement plan but opted to go with MS first.

    The customer service person I talked too sucked balls. She must have been new or something because it was so obvious she was reading from a script and didn't actually know what she was talking about. She sounded like Shawnee Smith (chick from Becker and the Saw movies) and at the end of every statement, her voice went up as if she were asking a question.

    Anyway, MS sends you a box to ship your XBOX in (so you don't have to pay shipping). It beats paying to ship it to a 3rd party who's going to ship it to MS anyway.

    Sucks about your friend, but work done by non-authorized repairers typically void warranties.
