Well I have my 360 and one game DOA4. I really like DOA but it is a fighting game and it is the only game I have. I like fighters but not as my main game. I like to play them when I am taking a break from my other games. I have noticed it looks like the next 360 game to come out is going to be Fight Night Round 3 but that is not until over a month from now. I was hoping to get College Hoops 2k6 but that has been pushed back to late spring. I need a game to get me through till FNR3 comes out. My friends have Condemned and CoD2 so I have played a lot of those as well. Can anyone suggest me any games that they really enjoy? I thought about 2k6 but I owned it for the xbox and am not sure if I am willing to pay $60 for updated graphics. Damn I am still pissed they pushed CHoops 2k6 back again.
Have you had any problems with it? I've been debating getting on as a lot of the games I have are not compatible. Then the article on purchasing an external HD-DVD drive, which drives the cost that much higher...What do you like, don't like, etc... Thanks...
Perfect Dark Zero is pretty fun (but short) as well as Project Gotham Racing. You might want to give one of those a try.
I personally have not had a problem with mine yet. If I were you and still had a lot of xbox games to play then I would wait as there is no must have title out there for the 360 yet. I will not be purchasing the external HD-DVD drive because I have tons of DVD's and refuse to re-purchase them to have them in Hi-Def. So to me that is not an issue. I will run down the major reasons I like the system and one complaint. +The best dashboard interface I have ever seen. +Xbox Live Arcade +Free demos of Arcade games and future titles. Currently there is a demo for Fight Night Round 3 out and the game is not supposed to be released until mid feb. And you can download a demo of any arcade game to test it out and decide if you want to purchase it. +The greatest controller ever made. I can personally never use a wired controller again. -No must have games out right now.
Call of Duty 2 is amazing... Perfect Dark Zero is a great filler for Halo 3... Need for Speed Most Wanted was a suprise hit for me, and PGR is stunningly beautiful. All the other games (Gun, Kameo, King Kong, etc) are fun but have no replay (aka multiplayer) value.
I just want to note that you don't have to re-purchase any movies if you don't want to. And while I'm not sure if the 360 version will do this, several players offer enhancements to DVD movies. I think the $1800 Blu-ray player would upscale DVDs to 1080p, and it didn't look too bad next to an actual BR movie at the same resolution. Just something to think about I guess when the time comes. As for any game suggestions, all the good ones that I know of have been mentioned already. Svpernaut gave a great summary of some of the games you might want to check out. If there is any "must-have" for the 360, it would probably be COD2; it has been selling very well AFAIK. On a side-note, FN3 is amazing from what I've seen. The animation could be a bit better, but that's basically what I wanted to see from "next-gen." Plus, it is by EA, which makes it even more amazing. Hehe..that's a problem I have since I don't go to sleep until like 4-5 in the morning. I don't even wake up until around noon at the earliest.
Have you played the demo R C? The graphics are simply amazing the only complaint I have is that when I hit my opponent it does not really make me feel like I hit my opponent. But other than that it is shaping up to be amazing. Definately the most "next-gen" looking. I really just wish I could somehow convince myself to pick up NBA 2k6. I never got to finish my Rockets dynasty on the xbox version. But I am just not sure that it would be worth another $60 for the same game. Thanks for the replies.
Not yet...in fact, I've played very little of the 360 in general. I did most of that at a Xbox 360 launch party at UT a day before it launched. Since then, I was too busy studying for finals, and at the moment, I'm not in Austin where I could probably find some people with a 360. I don't quite have those same "connections" in my hometown; I'll have to wait until I get back to UT before I can even get a chance of playing it some more. As for NBA 2K6, I got the impression that it wasn't quite the leap people expected. I would probably just rent it and see if you think it is worth the $60...probably not though. I'd rather spend that money or something like COD2 or one of the other games mentioned in the thread.
Just because you put a DVD in a HiDef player TV doesn't mean it's going to be hi def suddenly. quality might be a bit better, but thats it. If you want true hi def movies, you WILL have to repurchase the hi def versions. the XBOX360 lineup is pretty weak IMO. COD2 look simply amazing, and thats about it. There hasnt really been a killer title like Halo for XBOX launch. Heres to hping the PS3 launch has better titles. For 60 bux, they bettah
I realize that, I was just saying that the quality on the DVDs he already had would possibly be enhanced a bit on some of these players. Maybe not really a true hi def quality, but probably better than what you'd get on a regular DVD player. In that regard, he can buy a few movies that he really wants to see in HD on HD DVD/BR, and the rest he could just watch slightly enhanced version of on a HD DVD/BR player.
I'll run down what I have. MADDEN - I guess pretty good. It's certainly not the Madden you're used to, This is the one game that never wowed me like others. I'm a big franchise guy and it's almost worthless. I mean, you can't even draft a decent guy at the top of the 1st round. NBA2K - This is just a personal thing, but I thought it was worth it to buy it on the the 360. I have the XBOX version as well. The new version has unbelievable grapics, updated rosters (which I haven't seen for the current-gen version, but I could be wrong), and A LOT of little fixes to the gameplay that make a HUGE difference IMO. To me, it just plays great and a must if you really enjoy sim-bball. PERFECT DARK - It's a cool game. I've played co-op through most of it with my brother so it makes it funner cause they add tweaks to some of the levels to tae advantage of the 2nd player. Your basic FPS wih updated graphics. Havent tried it online. CALL OF DUTY 2 - This blew me away when I first played. The environment is awesome and you really feel as if you are in a war. The AI really impresses me at times in how they decide to fight in different situations. Havent tried it online. Awesome game! CONDEMED - This game is sweet. You really get the feeling you're in a survival fight with pshycos. I dont how to describe this game but you HAVE TO check it out. If you want more info of a game, I can. i was just keeping it short for now. For those with a 360 and have Live, you MUST check out the Fight Night 3 demo.
For those with a 360 and have Live, you MUST check out the Fight Night 3 demo. I can't stress enough how true this is. I mean anyone who has not downloaded it yet is doing themselves a huge disservice.
this is completely irrelevant to the thread, so of course I'll post it. http://www.xboxcircle.com/portal/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=948&Itemid=1 now high definition p*rn
Agreed...Same with Blue-Ray I'm assuming...The only way I know of now to get a higher resolution (HD like) is an up-convert DVD player conecting via HDMI...But for a game console, the history has been this didn't matter, but it would to me, so I'll be waiting for PS3...
I think so, but you and I seem like the only people who have it as a must have. It's a little slow, but the graphics are fantastic, the career mode is awesome, all the way down to player customization...and I'd imagine it is good on Live, too - I haven't set up my Live account yet.
