This may sound juvenile, but my friend tells me we should boycott X-Box because we are only adding to Bill Gates's wealth. Do you guys care?
As opposed to adding to the wealth of the head of Sony or Nintendo. I don't care who makes Xbox. I want it because of its specs and agreements with the best game makers.
I sort of care just because of the principle of the thing, but I really have no desire to buy an XBox anyway because I think it will be a crappy system which will not have the games I want. Ranking the next generation systems in order of preference, I'd probably put them like this: - PS2 - GameCube - DreamCast (skies of Arcadia alone makes it worth buying) - CrapBox
I want an XBOX - it kicks as$! As far as adding to his wealth - 74.25 billion or so... Wealth Just the marketing alone for the XBox was 500 million dollars. But Microsoft has about 18 billion in the bank or so as of April 2001. Cash Reserves So regardless of the success of XBOX Microsoft will still have Billions and so will Bill Gates. Buy it because it is the best console out there with the best games. I am gonna get mine sometime soon. Anyone know if there are any available? I read in the Chronicle that the initial shipment was completely sold out. Gamecube is launched tomorrow. Supposedly 700,000 units.

I got my X-Box on Thursday. Good thing I got mine reserved because all the other stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc) were all sold out. I am hooked on Halo!! The graphics on this game kick ass. The game is so much fun to play. My favorite game used to be Metal Gear but Halo just took the top spot. This game shows off all the reasons people bought the X-Box. Also NFL Fever is alot of fun to play... Can't wait till next week when NBA 2002 comes out.
I can't play my X-Box cause it is broken out of the box....fricken MS must still be pissed over our team telling them that Conquest was not ready to ship last Christmas. DaDakota
Seems to me that the graphics from all 3 systems are comparable. And the ps2 games are better. MGS2, NCAA college football, baldur's gate, final fantasy, etc.
I played PS2's NBA Street and Live 2002 over the weekend. If Xbox graphics are in the same league as PS2 graphics (which I doubt), I'm returning my Xbox.
Buddy of mine was at Walmart at 10:30 last nite. He expected the gamecube to go on sell right at midnight. I hope he got one. I saw a gamecube demo at best buy, and I was impressed. X-box's being broken doesn't surprise me at all. PS2 had the same problems. I think they produce them too fast sometimes. Also, I heard that X-box may be able to play the PS2 games. If that's the case then game, set, match.
Did anyone catch TechTv's special on the Gamecube ? Looks pretty nice, especially if you have young children. I don't really think you can go wrong with any of these 3 systems.I think the games will really be the deciding factor.
I read in an EGm article that X-Box allows you to rip music off CD's and play the songs during games... Anyone know if this feature will be available in "WWF RAW" to make custom entrance music?
I believe so far the only game to allow you to use music you store on the xbox is Project Gotham Racing. I read there weren't any others currently. As far as the xbox goes, I am really impressed with it so far. The graphics and sound are simply amazing and Halo is the best FPS to date on any system. Co-op play is extremely fun as well.
