When they come out with with the X-box live add on so that you can play on the net does anyone plan on doing any leagues?? i know id be up for one, but when does this thing come out??
http://xbox.ign.com/articles/361/361526p1.html It's 50$ for a year and you get a headset. Scheduled for this fall.
When they charge you 9.95 a month after your one year period for 50 bucks. You'll also have to foot the monthly bill for some broadband connection for the games to play decently. Hopefully they'll allow people to open their own servers.
Xbox live is predicted to be amiserable failure by most with knowledge of the industry. There are technical issues a plenty. Not to mention that it looks to be pretty cost prohibitive to most average consumers. Many Xbox gamers are minors. Answer me this...would your mom have paid for a broadband connection plus equipment plus $10 a month just so you could play games online? I know mine wouldn't have. That is a big reason why the concept is ill fated.
Actually, there are already free services out there that you can use to play X-box over the net. Of course the number of games available to play is limited - and the competition is extremely fierce, it is out there. Personally, I'm not sure if I, myself would buy into Microsoft's net scheme simply because I have a good enough time playing with my friends. -Turbo
This will not fail for a couple of reasons. 1. MS has more money then God, and can simply wait for the customers to catch up to the technology. 2. More and more people already have broadband and being able to play people online is the next step. I can not wait to play Football against a human opponent, try out new plays, strategies etc....it will open up entire video leagues. MS is many things...but foolish is not one of them. DaDakota
Bravo, I agree with you DaDakota. I myself have Cable connection and I can bet that more than half the users that have an XBox also have broadband connection. I like the idea that it has to be broadband instead of dialup. When I played my Dreamcast on dialup, it was kinda lacking.
Nope. He'd be even less likely than Mom would have been. When I was growing up, if I wanted to play with my friends we'd meet at the schoolyard for a ballgame. Then we'd go to somebody's house and have some sodas and we'd play games on the Atari.
