Wow, this is just the most ridiculous thing I have heard. From Wycleaf Jean to Greg Mortenson, it is just disheartening. The fact that both of them continue to defend it, yet not actively answer the specifics in the findings of fraud is criminal to me.
I don't doubt that they gave a lot of moeny to haiti and to the schools in mortensen's case, but in both cases they gave considerably less than what was available and represented and in that principle theese guys are guilty and their foundations should be put in other hands and they should be disgraced.

HE is really delussional in him pointing out where helped and how much money they spent helping, yet doesn't answer the specifics of him paying himself 400k for a concert, 250k to a company majority owned by him, another 300k to his brother in laws company. This crook wants to run for president.
So if they raise 5 million, and he gives 1-2 million to charity and makes a difference he goes on to focus on the 1-2 million and just thinks he shouldn't be attacked with the other side

Same goes with Mortenson, he 'exaggerated' stories in Three cups of tea which I found to be inspiring, then he says he opened some odd amount of school but finds out that less than half are open or used after the ribbon cutting ceremony for TV. A considerable amount of donated money was used for marketing for his book which leads to profits for him. Then people defend him and say he still helped and built some schools which is great, but what about the principle that these guys misrepresented and malisciously kept money that were donated to go straight to people who need it.

Musicians are idiots and their business managers are crooked. You ever wonder how some of these guys can get half a dozen platinum albums produced by their 30th birthday but not fill out a 1040 for the last decade and a half, here's your answer.

Yea, It is just a shame, this is a guy who ran for president, really pawned off people's emotions to help his devastated home country.

Immediately after the earthquake he rang in 5 million with millions to follow on

He conned Angelina Jolie to give the entire million from the pictures of her pregnancy to just write the check straight to Yele haiti, and he supposedly wasted half of it on an extravagant float for a parade

He paid his MISTRESS who was his assistant, then changed her title to VP and gave her more than the director of the entire organization

It is disgraceful. You ahve guys like Madoff and the ponzi schemes putting out hard working people's earned money, but htis is another level. Guys like Mortensen and Wyclef feel entitled that they are helping so they can dip into the fund whenever they want ,this is hard earned money of the people who so selflessly wanted to help other people, he seems to be content that even he did well with half the money he is a savior, but these guys are conmen and crooks

Haiti been in a rut since they ran off all the French 200 years ago. At this point its in their collective DNA.

Wyclef on the other hand is f-cking scum, but this I suspect is how most celebrity/1% charities are run.

Yea it is really key not just to look at "not for profit" but how much they spend on administrative cost, etc and how much goes directly to victims. There are foundations with idealist who run it, work hard to which they should be paid, and still just make it a passion project and take a dollar salary to make sure all that can goto victims can go.

And more so,on this subject, charity that simply gives handouts often lead to cyclical dependence and is more of a nuisance in hte long run in many ways. You must look for the ones that focus on creating sustainable opportunities to allow the victims to empower and grow on themselves.

But yea, miami just gave him the key to the city of hall of fame. Imagine, he got 16 million dollars receently of people trusting him with money because they wanted to help the Haitians, less than a 3rd of it was spent(this jerk is bragging about the 3-4 million he was given to spend and its effects, ignoring where 75 percent of the moeny is as he is entitled to it or something). Imagine if you gave someone 1 million dollars to send to your grandmother and they gave 300k and said look I did all the work, delivered it, and plus i sitll gave her the 300k which is a lot and really helpful, ignoring that he still kept 700k.
I am just shocked the media isn't all over the place. It is published in many places, but where is the hype for this sort of thing. All the ponzi schemes get so much exposure, this guy shoudl be on the front page as a crook.
