The old thread is beyond the last eight pages of Hangout topics displayed and the search is down so here's a new one.

Here's some interesting speculation from 411wrestling.com.

Okay Ref, Kam, RC, et al., go to work. :D

Also, congratulations to fellow cc.net-er A-Train for making the WWE roster. Good luck in your match against Edge! ;)

It is obvious that they can't go with the roster split forever. Among the many problems is that there isn't enough TV time for wrestlers that make the company money, and two world champions with the Intercontinental title on the shelf.

My guess is that this will go on until right before WrestleMania. At that point, WWE will have renegotiated the Viacom TV deal (which expires in February). They will have four 2 hour shows a week.

Vince McMahon vs. Eric Bischoff at WM. Bischoff will win the match, and win the right to take RAW as a separate promotion. He will call it WCW. Finally the WWE will be split into 2 separate promotions. You will see the IC title and the US title resurrected. My understanding is that it was Vince's plan to run 2 promotions when he bought WCW. It didn't happen because he couldn't get enough TV time to run 2 shows a week for each of 2 promotions. The new TV deal will provide them with the TV time and he will make the split part of the WM storylines.

This is all just my opinion...I have no inside sources or facts to back this up (other than Vince did want to run WCW as a separate promotion when he bought it).

    What do you guys think?

I wish I was. The head booker makes a TON of cash, and it's a job I'd love.

I think I'd be pretty good at it. Maybe cc.net should start a letter writing campaign for me. I couldn't possibly be worse than Brian Gerwirtz. :)

i wanna be a head booker.

is anybody gonna figure out how to do the royal rumble?

Usually the winner gets a shot at wm, or at the next ppv there is some stipulation and something else happens.

Goldberg was the coolest wrestler in the last few years, in my opinion, and if you can't dig the spear, than something is wrong with you. :)

I liked him and Rey Jr when I watched WCW as a kid.

I can dig the spear, but only when he does it. I hope he comes to the WWE and gives Edge a mean one for jocking that move the last couple of years.

The Rock should turn heel. Give him a prima donna movie star gimmick. Have him throw fits and threaten to go to his trailer during interviews. "The Rock only drinks Evian, jabroni!"

I miss Repo Man too. It'd be cool to have him come back for a one-night-only kinda thing and have him steal the title from whoever-is-holding-it's lockerroom. Then later in the show, have the champion catch him at a pawn shop trying to hock it and execute their finisher on him through one of those glass display cases.

Okay, that's enough outta me tonight...

He was also one of the most popular wrestlers of the late 1990s. It isn't every Tom, Dick, and Evan Karageous that can get an entire arena full of people to chant his name.

I SAW, in person, several WCW events. I can tell you that they weren't pumping chants out of the speakers.

For instance, I was ringside at New Year's Evil at the Dome in 1999.

In fact...I have yet to be at a live wrestling event where any kind of crowd noise was piped in through the speakers. In the last 15 years, I have been to MANY events...I haven't experienced it yet.

I don't know, but I still say they were piped in through the speakers. I am just not a big goldberg fan. That streak was bull****. He beat up Glacier, the Sub Zero knock off, about 6 times, and Meng about 4 times, and Jerry Lynn, mr Lightning foot about 12 times during his streak. That is not very entertaining.

If Goldberg were to return, he would be best used as a major heel. The guy is just scary-looking. I'd like to see him come in and totally ravage the competition like he did early in his WCW career, destroying guys like Edge and RVD, eventually working towards a big-time feud with the Rock.

Edge and RVD is more entertaining and better workers than Glacier, and Lighting Foot Flynn orwhatever his name is, and La Parka, and crap like that.

He was a heel for a time in WCW...he doesn't make a convincing heel. It's awfully hard to get good heel heat when the entire arena is chanting your name.

All he has to do is blindside the Rock. Voila, instant heel.

Well, ok back to topic. Refman, u have one good point there. Honestly, these are the BAD TIMES right now and something has to spark in order to get the federation back on track. Getting Hogan, Stone Cold, Rock, and Goldberg, hyping them up within 4 months? That my friends would be a miracle. Add Nash, Rhyno, The Heartbreak Kid's resurrected career, and Kanyon returns, there has to be something to make it a seperate promotion. The only thing is, u cant really have 2 great promotions owned by the same person. If one is crap and the other is blowing the roof off in the ratings, old Vincent wouldnt care because he is getting money either way. He needs to do something about, something we have not seen before and just entertain us. Enough of the testicles, HLA, Tag Teams Reuniting, necrophilia stuff and just put on good matches and story lines that climed them to the top of the business. Thats all a wrestling fan of 10 years can ask for. :)

Goldberg sided with Vince Russo...it didn't make him a heel. If that won't then nothing will.

Vince's idea was to have 2 separate writing teams and put them in competition with each other. The money comes from the same place...but each booking team would have a drive to be better than the other team. It could work.
