    News

The Vikings have signed former wrestling star Brock Lesnar to play defensive tackle, pending a physical. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports head coach Mike Tice made the decision following Lesnar's second workout with the team, which took place Tuesday morning. "I'm excited. All I ask for is the opportunity, and he's given me that," said Lesnar, who has not played football since high school. Lesnar was the NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion at the University of Minnesota and the youngest heavyweight champion in WWE history.

Lesnar will probably land on the Vikings' practice squad because of his lack of experience. What he does not lack is physical talent, as anyone who has seen the 6-3, 286-pound beast run a 4.65 in the 40 can attest. We'll also bet the Lesnar jersey sales go through the roof.

He was an idiot for leaving the WWF. He better accomplish something in the NFL, cuz wrestling fans will never welcome him back after the way he quit on everyone.

Vince will bring anyone into the WWF if it means better ratings and increased revenue. Hell, the dude hired Eric Bischoff. The problem is the fans really piled on Brock during his final match with Goldberg(he got a lot of heat too since he was also quitting). I'd be surprised if they were willing to forgive him for the way he up and left.

Calgary fans also hate Shawn Michaels.

Montreal is the site of the incident though.

    What was that all about?

(I can just hear long time wrestling fans wondering how the hell I could not know all about it!)

A&E made a documentary about this. Very interesting read if you have the time. I still find it compelling.

BTW, Bret Hart's autobiography is supposed to be done in the not to distant future. Ill be buying a copy the first day it comes out.

Are they desperate enough to give Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair a title push yet? I haven't been keeping track at all.

No he's stupid because he left a $40+ million contract, along with high status in the WWE, for $230,000 and rookie status in the NFL. THAT is why he's an idiot.

I thnk they acted as if they were trying to give a Flair a push not too long ago, but it's creatively bad.

ok if u think brock lesnar is an idiot then u must think pat tilliman is an idiot too. tilliman gave up millions in the nfl just go to serve his country and has died. i rather just have enough to get through my life with my family and kids, have a nice job that i like, and to be happy for what i have been through in the past and looking ahead to the future than make tons of money and not be happy. money sometimes never equals happiness. brock didnt seem happy with wrestling and so he quit and gave up millions of dollars, his endorsements, and popuarity. he join the vikings now b/c he wants to play football. likely that is happiness. i watch wrestling since the day stone cold became wwf champion at wrestlemania. i wish brock had stayed in the wwe but his heart wasnt in there no more. i think its ok for brock to leave wwe to assume his real dreams but he should had told wwe a lil bit earlier so they can make go out w/o the boos like at wrestlemania this year.

brock was a bit of idiot for not telling Vince that he wants to quit in like 2 weeks or something like that but he aint an idiot for wanting to go after his dream of being in the NFL stage.

I'm pretty sure Dave Meltzer said that 40 million dollar figure was an exaggeration.
