It amazes me how people who don't want to buy it come in here and ask for a lower price. If he were giving it away for free, I'm sure that would be too expensive for some of you guys.

Offer him $150, if not $160 is still a great deal.

I feel the need to comment on this.

They're still $199 in the Apple Store, but there's always a deluge of them due to Apple's Back to School promo. This current generation came out Sept. 9, 2009. The previous generation came out Sept. 9, 2009. The previous generation came out Sept. 13, 2007. The 8GB version is from the 2008 generation. I am not going to speculate about the future; these are just facts. Science, if you will.

Who said I wouldn't be interested in buying it? I commented that the price he was asking was rather high. Your second sentence didn't even make sense to me, or maybe it just went over my head. Either way it doesn't apply to me at all, and I would dare to say many more that looked at this thread.

He is asking for too much ONLY if he is asking for more than the MSRP. Apple.com shows the MSRP is $199.

On ebay, it looks like the average price (including shipping) for a new 8 gb ipod touch is about $160. And there's no tax.

So as a consumer, would you rather pay $160 or $200 for the same item?

 

Some people would rather not wait for shipping.

But your right about the other stuff.

3rd generation with priority shipping will put it in my mailbox in 2-3 days.

 

Apple just released a new iPod Touch with a retina display, camera, and a new processor.

 

people who sell stuff need to realize that although yours is new....it isn't like buying in a store cause...

1) if i buy it new in a store, i can return it if it's defective and get my money back [will you return my money if i open it and it's defective]

2) i won't have hassle with apple with warranty issues outside of my store return policy cause i have a legitimate receipt

furthermore, this is the model from 08. new model comes out in a week....further dropping this model even further.
