My kids are going ape**** over this stuff. They're just rubber bands. And now my daughter wants the Justin Bieber silly bandz. Why can't I come up with a stupid cash cow idea like this.

I've been stepping on these for a few weeks now. We must have a hundred scattered about the house. The stupid stuff you put up with to be a dad...

Edit: we don't have any JB ones... my kids are way cooler than that.

One of the representatives of the company in China that supplies BCP Imports with these pretty much thanked American parents for being such irresponsible consumers to pay so much money for rubber bands. The gap between cost and msrp.. I forgot what the numbers were but they were ridiculous

I bought the SpongeBob pack from a Chevron corner store for my girls one night when I felt generous. ONE effin' dollar for a pack. Ka-ching!

Meh. It doesn't bother me. Sometimes it's easy to figure out what shape it is... I've FAIL'd on many an occasion to determine it was a cross, not a tree... :(

Yeah my son has a ton of these things too. He leaves them all over the place; our pets eat them then yack them up.

These things have been popular for months now. A lot of my friends have them. I just don't understand the appeal. They're ugly when they're around your wrist, and you can't use them as rubber bands.

My neice always asks for some whenever my sister visits us from New Jersey.

She gets all happy for a rubber band that only costs one buck?

    I don't get it.

In about 15 to 20 years, these kids will be in their mid 20's to early 30's, laughing about the stupidity of these things, but still waxing nostalgic about how much better Silly Bandz were than whatever crazy fad kids will be into at that time.

What I'm saying is we need to put our heads together and co-create the next fad, and anybody here is who is good with money needs to help us invest our earnings wisely before the fad dies out.

I'm wearing two right now. One from each of my girls. One is a green football helmet and the other a yellow home plate. They didn't want those.... I've had them on for about 3 months now.

As an elementary teacher, I can tell you that these things are the bane of my existence. The kids just won't stop playing, twirling, fidgeting, etc. with these damn things, and of course, they're tuned out the whole time. I've got a drawer full of these things that I've confiscated, telling them they can pick them up at the end of the day. And, of course, they always forget. I shudder to think how much my "collection" cost the poor parents.
