    I love BBQ

    i mean....looooove it.

I've been drooling to go to Lockhart for years and finally made it after the Red Rowdies thrashed the Spurs. Went one a Saturday at noon...prime time.

I know the market moved and recall some people saying it's not the same...but wtf!! I mean, if this was not Kreuz, I'd say this just flat out sucked.

this is NOT smoked brisket. I'm sorry. this is braised beef...there is a difference. I mean, even Behad's 12 lb brisket quick cooked in 12 hours serverd the next day microwaved and smothered in sauce that heyschweetie had to choke down is better than this.

    bring it!

The only real BBQ is served in my hometown... The Church of the Immaculate BBQ...Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church BBQ House in Huntsville, TX.

It's heavenly and I had gobs of it before it was cool.

    City Market (Luling)
    Black's (Lockhart)
    Opie's (Spicewood)
    Mueller's (Lockhart)
    Sam's (Austin)

Kreuz really lost it's heart when the family split. So sad...

Did you get the fat or the lean brisket? I've always found their meat to be very smoky and moist, but I always get the fat brisket. I also LOVE their sausage, and the pork chop is good too.

Maybe they've gone down hill... I don't know. It's been a couple of years since I've been. If so, Smitty's is still open I hope.

both! we got everything! It looks so good when they are slicing it. :(

like tinman says...salt lick. I don't know if it was salt brines...salt..or just smoke bitterness without the smoke flavor...but yeah...my buddie was say "this is salty"

The ribs were over black peppered as well. I mean, I love peppered beef/pastrami but...come on!

Screw going out of town. Williams BBQ is incredible. On par with Memphis ribs. Try there before worrying about places outside of Houston.

there's a force field around the city of houston, he can't leave it.

there's that place near columbus, http://www.jerrymikeska.com/
    i remember it was good.

people who can drive outside the city of houston and not get hit by the hammer of dawn, can dine here.

    dear pal fatty,
this thing called the internet is world wide.
this site clutchfans is opened to people who dont live in houston also.
therefore, your assumption everyone lives in houston is wrong.

The vast majority on here are in Houston.
My response was to heypartner who I know lives in Houston.
Please quit being so juvenile and try to shut up from time to time. You've been trying to ruffle a lot of feathers lately, and I'm getting tired of it.

did you ever look at the Clutchfans poll? there are tons of people outside houston, hell outside the USA.

uh, why should i listen to you? i'm more senior than you on this board. i'm member #451

i was responding to others here who arent in houston like SWT who probably have been to Kreuz Market (look that's what the topic is about). I'm assuming people who go to Kreuz in Lockhart are people who dont mind traveling around texas to taste some small town bbq.

We know you love houston, thanks, i'm sure houston loves you back.

I've never said I hated VY. Please find where I stated that. And I'm guessing you forgot about the name change bet in 2001. But I like how someone 10 years my junior feels he has seniority over anyone.

You've been behaving poorly recently, and I've had enough of it.

You want to talk to someone about someplace outside of Houston, then that is fine. But, again, I was responding to heypartner about trying the BBQ in Houston before travelling elsewhere.
