Its august 7th 2009 and I'm currently looking out at the moon. Which is full and bright btw....anyway there's a big bright dot right under the moon...its brighter than the north star!! I live in houston by the way...just in case other countries can't see it but its so bright Nothing in the news.. Nebody got a telescope???? Wtf is that?
1999 party over ooops out of time. Anyway I can't see the moon where I'm at all I see is an airplane flying by. Can you take a pic.
well, i'm in Arkansas, go outside, look at the moon, and do see a very bright looking star near the moon. Probably wouldn't think anything of it if you hadn't made this post, tho.
According to this link http://www.berthoudrecorder.com/News/2009/aug/6/community/earthsky-waning-moon-and-, it's planet Uranus.
I went out and checked it out right now. Uranus makes sense, a star would twinkle and that doesn't. Didn't look red to me, just very bright.
Actually guys i was watching the NASA channel last night and they started talking about this. They confirmed that it's the Death Star.
This is the best shot I could get: I would have used a tripod to keep it steady, but it's packed up. It should be just one light from what I saw.
