Um... yeah. Click on the link, and thank me later. http://www.apple.co.jp/quicktime/trailers/casshern_large.html
What the fffff???? Okay I was totally lost for a long time there 'cause I had no idea what language that was. Then, I obviously figured out what was going on, but I'd say don't get your hopes up because that movie is a whole different bunch of characters obviously. It's a movie which isn't being made by the Wachowski brothers, so I'm thinking the way the story goes is way different from what the brothers envision, and that's if they even have a fourth movie in mind. Unfortunately, just because that country has a fourth matrix doesn't mean we will too. In fact, I'd say we won't. It'd be awesome if there was though.
Plot #1: (Loosely Translated from the Official Site) + Babel Fish Translation: The great 50 year war continues, as for the world is divided into two camps: Asian federal republic and European combination. On an end of a long fight, Asian federal republic wins control over the East Asian Eurasian continent. But the victory caused a great devastation of human nature. The actions of chemical weapons and germ weapons resulted in major chemical injuries and a large "radioactivity" virus. Doctor Higashi, whose wife is suffering from the "radioactivity" illness, creates a "new structure cell" theory … a theory that would create a new powerful human structure and a new life body. (Casshern?) Though dismissed by the hygienic ministry, Higashi continues his research with the help from a troop of authorized personnel (who is utilizing the theory because of their own selfish desire). Plot #2: Made for 5 billion yen, "Casshern" tries to address the idealistic question proposed in Shakespear's "Hamlet" (Why do people fight with each other?) It is also a continuation of the Japanese animation, "Shinzou Ningen Casshern" which was broadcasted back in 1973. A riot occurs within the robots that were made to clean up environmental pollution. As a result, a professor of robotic engineering revised his "son" Casshern to calm the riot. Plot #3: The world has taken a different path as we know it today. The great war has gone on for 50 years and the world is divided into two groups, the Republic of Asia and the European Union. After the long battle, the Republic of Asia came out as the victor and it has come to take over the Eurasian Continent. However, the only thing that came out of this was the demise of the human spirit, chemical weapons, germ warfare, viruses derived from nuclear bombs, the prognostic symptoms of radioactivity, and the razed land. Will mankind just sit there and look at the fall of its kind? --- joblo.com
Looks pretty neat. I wasn't a fan of Revolutions being it's own movie, just didn't cut it for me. I loved the original, and reloaded was pretty cool. But when I walked out of the theatre after watching Revolutions my friend asked me what I thought of it, and I said "meh....it was ok I guess".
I agree. The Matrix was one of the most awesome movies ever (after the first around 10 times I saw it), I loved Reloaded, and Revolutions kinda sucked. I think I hyped up Revolutions too much in my head though - I thought it was going to be the best of the three.
Yeah, I liked Reloaded a lot. When the movie ended, I was so excited to see the conclusion. I was like AHHH I have to wait 4 months to see the last installment of the series! But when the time came.....I was disapointed.
This is sort of like Matrix, but with big anime influence. I think it looks really badass. Anybody know how long it takes Japanese movies to come here? Will it hit theaters?
The last Japanese movie I saw here was Princess Blade, it was at the Angelika. A friend showed me this trailer a while back and somebody else posted it here, can't remember who. I haven't really heard if this film is coming out here at all though. I usually see Asian movies when my friends get them on bootleg dvds. There not bad bootlegs though.
I couldn't quite figure out what was going on in that trailer, but it sure looks like live-action anime to me. If only someone would make a live-action Cowboy Bebop. I'd pay to see that.
funny you should say that, because the matrix ripped off the anime look and even the "red eyes on robots" from japan. considering its origin, i would hope it has anime influences, even the story does. if it does hit the screens or at least a subtitled dvd in the US, i really don't want to hear from people here that it is a ripoff of the matrix. No, revolutions and reloaded, were ripoffs from the matrix.
yeah whatever.....It looks like a good movie...I would go and see it if I could....regardless of who, where, why it originated from... i really dont care.....
PWN3D!!! But seriously, I wasn't saying anime ripped off the Matrix. I was just pointing out similarities between this preview, and another famous movie with visual similarities. No need to jump all over me.
KIMF is playing off of NIMF. I am not quite sure if NIMF really stands for what it means or not from what I have been told. Moes told me what it means, but he could be kidding me.
