I'm pretty sure this guy's girlfriend wears a ring or two and supports a watch. Rightie or leftie for sure. http://gizmodo.com/5062237/world-of-warcraft-seems-like-kind-of-a-silly-hobby World of Warcraft player/dorkmaster supreme Prepared has caved to his smack addiction-like dependence on WoW and created 36 separate accounts that he plays simultaneously on an epically ridiculous rig. He claims to spend over $5700 per year just on the game, and plans to pick up 36 copies of the new expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King when it's released. I've never played World of Warcraft. I'm not sure if the abbreviation is pronounced by spelling out the letters W-O-W or if you just saw "wow." It seems like the kind of thing where you have to know the difference between an elf and an orc, and I gotta be honest, I just don't care. But this is so over-the-top that I'm almost interested in finding the one true ring or banging lady-dwarves or whatever you do in that game. Prepared's setup features a whopping seven separate laptops, four desktops hidden away under the desk, and an array of screens that's disorienting even in a static image. He might be the only person on earth who's capable of using the 15-button mouse. Prepared claims that $5700 a year is reasonable for a hobby, and he's totally right. I can think of at least three hard drugs that would be more expensive. Edit: I've been informed that our industrious nerd is not Bradster but Prepared. Sorry for the commotion this must have caused Bradster and his family. [Ripten via Crunchgear]
I have nothing against people who get hooked on an online computer game (I was too for about 6 months), but this...this is just lunacy.
wayyy toooo much time on their hands...i dont even know what id do with all those screnes...p*rn doesnt take up 10 screnes....
i dont get why u need that many laptops to play 1 game. wouldnt a giant tv and 1 good computer be better? not 50 small screens.
I have no idea what any of that means. Sounds epic though. This guy is like a 21st century Spartan warrior.
He needs one computer for every account in the game he is going to play simultaneously. He has 36 accounts, but I think his set-up only lets him play 11 at a time, which is probably a good amount to run around in WoW without anyone else's help. I have a friend who would often play 2 accounts and occassionally 3 in Eve Online simultaneously. He said that was hard and that he didn't like to do 3 because he couldn't do that much multitasking and might lose a ship in the confusion. Eleven, I can't fathom.
I don't get it. Are they all set up as bots like in D2? They will automatically attack/follow with him?
lmao, i see people 'multi-box' all the time in WoW, but not to this degree, usually its just 4-5 characters moving in sync world of warcrack!!!!!! anyone on this board play wow?
I used to play. Sold my guy for 2000$ 2 years ago, then played casually for a few months this summer 'cause I was bored as hell. Biggest waste of my life, ever. I reccommend no one ever play it, it's pretty pointless game, the more you play they better crap you get - no skill required. I still know people that still play it and it's hilarious how their life turns out, usually goes from UC Berkeley to working at Academy while going to Community College.
That's impressive. How the hell do you watch so many screens and control your characters? Maybe he should try for fighter pilot or something.
I don't get it. You sold a video game character for $2000? How does that work? If I can make money off this game, I might be interested in trying it out. If I can withstand the boredom of playing an RPG, that is.
I would imagine that if your goal was to make money, working a minimum wage job would probably net you more in the hours it takes to get anywhere in this type of game.
