That is some crazy news!! I thought he was going to give college a chance. He should go to at least a year of college just to see how things pan out.
He isn't signing with an agent though. He's nowhere near ready along with Perkins, but this draft WAS weak. Tons of early entries might make it alright.
wow ......pretty suprising .......Ebi is a string bean .......something like 6'10'' and only 200 lbs. Even as a 3, he is nowhere near strong enough to handle the NBA. Hes going to have to do some major bulking up.
i would love for the rockets to draft ebi if he falls to the second round. he could be the sf answer in a few years. ps ebi is only 6-8 and 200lb soaking wet. but he's a talent. a year or two or college and he'd be a lottery pick
It says here SLAM 69 that he is a "6-9 kid blocking shots" hum... sounds familiar! Can anybody say Eddie Griffin! HA!!
I know, that was a monster dunk!!I think he'll be better off going to college for at least a year to develope more, but you never know.
Yea if he goes now he will have to wait and develope more strength WAY MORE strength! He wont be an Amare I think he'll be a Rashard Lewis take him a couple of years to adjust!
If Ebi drops to the second round, I hope the rockets don't do with what they did with Rashard Lewis and not draft him.
#44 Ndudi Ebi Birthdate: 6/18/84 NBA Position: Power Forward College: Arizona Class: HS Senior Ht: 6-9 Wt: 205 Hometown: Houston, TX High School: Westbury Christian 2002 Stats Ebi is the all around player that coaches love to have on their team. He brings a great deal of versatility to the game. At 6-9, he’s big enough to play inside but also athletic enough to play the wing. In terms of playing professionally, Ebi will likely play the small forward spot. He can handle the ball with little problems but will likely need to spend more time in that department in order to become a true threat at the small forward position. Due to his size, he usually finds himself inside on both sides of the floor. Against smaller and quicker teams, Ebi stepped out to the wing and showed off his ball handling and high arching jump shot. His jumper is as sweet as they come. He has range from all parts of the floor. He works hard at getting points in the paint and does a nice job of elevating over his defender. There will always be questions regarding his ability to handle much bigger and stronger players inside the paint. His slender build will create lopsided mismatches between himself and the usually bigger power forwards. Ebi did show off his post skills against the super huge 6-9, 275 star junior Al Jefferson this summer at the Nike Peach Jam. Ebi played the big man fairly well on the blocks, swatting Jefferson’s shot at least five times. Ebi’s attention to helping out on the weak side on defense was also another reason why he had so much success defensively in the paint. His long arms certainly swayed potential shots away. His arms also got into the passing lanes, knocking the ball loose for a transition bucket. He has great body control despite playing with a bum knee. -Justin Young Here are the stats on Ebi got them on nbadraft.net
After reading that, he sounds like a more athletic Eddie Griffin.Their size are similar and they both are good shot blockers. Another person he could be compared to is Darius Miles.
Yea but from the articles that they had on ESPN.com on Eddie they made Eddie sound mean in the paint kinda guy with a shooting touch from 3 pt land! I dunno maybe he just got tired of banging in the post! I never watched him in college so I dunno!
Eddie was a monster in college, he dominated in the paint swatting shots right and left!Hopefully he's working on his inside game this offseason and bulk up more. I guess Ebi is a Darius Miles, with a better shot.
I wish Eddie was still like that! Hopefully so! Sometimes I just think that players forget what they can do when they come to the NBA! Especially in this 1-2 kinda offense!
Usually players have break out years during their 3rd year, so he better come out with fire in his ass if he's still here.
College: Seton Hall Height: 6'-9" Weight: 210 Class: Freshman Birth Date: May 30, 1982 Age: 20 years, 276 days old HomeTown: Philadelphia, PA NBA Comparison: Tim Duncan Clutchcity.net Notes on Eddie Griffin Many felt Eddie Griffin was going to jump to the NBA straight out of high school. They were off by a year. In just one season at Seton Hall, the 6'9" Griffin has established himself as one of the nation's top players, averaging 17.8 points and 10.8 rebounds. As a freshman he led the country in blocks at 4.5 a contest. Thinly framed at 210 pounds, Griffin is a trmendous leaper that has scouts and GM's praying to get his rebounding and shot-blocking talent on their roster. "Eddie Griffin is one of the best players to come onto the college scene in the last 20 years," said Sportsline's George Rodecker. Strengths of Eddie Griffin DOES IT ALL INSIDE Puts up numbers in scoring, rebounding and is an exceptional shot blocker. Plays well with his back to the basket and his footwork around the hoop draws praise. Handles the ball real well and is athletic -- can get around other power forwards very well. As good as he is inside, he's got a sweet stroke from the outside as well. Graceful and powerful. Runs the break extremely well and finishes just as good. Has the tools to become a superstar on the next level. Weaknesses of Eddie Griffin The big question mark is character/attitude. Griffin was suspended for punching teammate Ty Shine (reportedly because Shine didn't feed him the ball enough - nice) in the locker room after a loss to Georgetown. Had the same question mark in high school where he was expelled for starting a fight in the school cafeteria. Griffin on the Rockets? If you're a Rocket fan turning down a chance to get a prospect like Eddie Griffin, you're either crazy or you're Maurice Taylor. Griffin can play the 3 and 4 and is simply masterful on the boards and returning shots to sender. Though the Rockets won't get high enough to get him, he would instantly become a large part of the foundation of the franchise along with Steve Francis. Lone problem being his character questions since the Rockets pride themselves on their terrific chemistry. I found this in CLutch's old files!! Eddie is the same thing as Ebi! See they had no weeknesses on Eddie and look what happend the only weekness that he had was attitude and look now he doesnt even talk! If we were in some way to Draft Ebi I hope this doesnt happend!
