    It's about time!!

    I don't believe in the weak argument about refs having bad games ... I can understand a few, but not every game!

    20 yrs ago, you rarely saw bad calls. It would be nice to get back to that level of officiating.

    Will those monitoring the officials give the same preferential star treatment to the chosen ones (eg Shaq's offensive fouls not being called)? What are the reprecussions of missed calls.

    exactly. those monitors are human too. nobody can be absolute objective...
    this also sends a dangerous message. referees are making calls in split seconds, if he needs to mind himself whether it's going to be a bad call and there is reprecussions all the time he may just make more mistakes.
    the simple solution... like what they do in football... when in doubt, you challenge the ref, and they watch the replay. of course you have to limit how many times one team can challenge in each game.
