Um, there's supposed to be a poll attached to this. Option 1) Yes Option 2) No Option 3) Obama! Option 4) I'm the devil/Vote Republican
I tried, but when I tried to change the number of poll options it posted the thread and I couldn't go back
No way in hell am I voting for a Hillary Clinton/Gore ticket. I would vote for Gore/Hillary unless Fred Thompson is running on the republican side. But hell yeah, I would vote for Al and HC over Giulani (sp?).
Agreed. And Gore's not even going to think about the #2 slot again. I doubt Hillary would either. I think Obama would. I'm on the fence about what Edwards would think of running for VP again. But I do sort of wonder if Obama and Edwards are talking at all. And I really wonder who Gore's talking to.
Batman, Do you think Gore is seriously considering it? I mean he has it pretty good right now, and just won the Nobel prize. IMHO, he would be great and go a LONG way towards repairing the damage done by Dubya with the world community. Also, Americans love a comeback story, and he is a good one. DD
I don't know if you guys saw it in the Nobel thread, but... Gore uploaded 3 homemade videos on the Current TV web site... One on Health Care:http://current.com/items/84987281_h...care_is_a_right One on Congressional oversight and Exec power:http://current.com/items/84986911_a...ore_protection# and one on Iraq: http://current.com/items/84986481_get_the_troops_home I think he's thinking about it... maybe testing the waters to see if he could run a campaign outside the expected norm... looking for ways around the media filters. Seeing these, I think the odds he runs are now above 50% for the first time.
Gore's dreamed of being president his entire life. And that desire has to be increased with the urgency he feels about climate change and the knowledge that he could do so much more as president than not. I can't imagine anyone winning the popular vote in a presidential race and not seriously considering running again every single cycle. I agree with the rest of your post too. But in the end I don't see him doing it. It's not too late for him to get in, I think he would win if he did and I think he wants to be president. But I also think he really doesn't want to run and probably doesn't feel he's needed this time around as the Dem field is very, very strong and the GOP field is very, very weak.
I don't think the Dems field is strong, it has too many problems with it's front runners. Hillary - a Woman - many people will not vote for her because of that fact. Obama - Muslim father, African American - 2 strikes against him for the less enlightened folks of our country I think the time is NOW for Gore, not in the future, and I hope he runs. DD
Perhaps not my top choice, but if this was the Democratic ticket, absolutely. I'm a Gore fan from way back when I saw him on the VP debates when I was in middle school.
