Of course, that's assuming they would trade with us. If we assume that Taylor is completely healed, & all reports indicate that he is, would you do this trade? By the way, it couldn't happen until after December 15th (George just resigned), but that would be about the time frame that Doc Rocket alluded to. Houston sends Taylor/Collier/T-Mo to LA. LA sends Horry/Devean George to Houston. George would answer our need for a backup SG & give us a replacement at SF when Rice's contract expires in 2 years. Horry would bring us a veteran player with playoff experience & would bring him back home to be closer to his family. His contract only has 2 years left on it & has a team option in the second year. LA gets a solid, young PF that can score often. His rebounding numbers are about the same as Horry's & would be benefitted by Shaq's dominance on the boards. Taylor brings a much stronger offensive game than either, Horry or Fox, & would give Jackson the 3rd piece to his triangle offense. Collier would give them a young 7 footer to back up Shaq & T-Mo would offer some defensive help off the bench. Well, there it is. Any thoughts?
1. Lakers probably won't let Robert Horry go. 2. By then, Mo might be looking better than ever and the Rox might not want to give him up. 3.If Mo looks the same as old, CD pull the trigger.
There is NO WAY LA would do that. Phil likes his players to play defense. This all but eliminates any use for Mo Taylor. Horry's defensive contributions outweigh (the one time Horry can outweigh Mo) Mo's 12 ppg or so (what he would get as the 3rd scorer in LA). LA is more interested in a PJ Brown-type PF, who can play defense and can stick the occasional jumper. Also, how would this affect team chemistry? Horry and George were arguably the 2 most important role players on the Lakers last year. I don't even know if LA would trade Horry STRAIGHT UP for Mo T. The only reason they would is to grant Horry's wish to be with his ailing daughter. Basketball-wise, it makes no sense for them. Collier and Mo T? Those guys would be on the IL for LA all season long. Also, for some reason, LA sees a lot in George, by giving him a big contract. Hell, LA wouldn't trade George for Mo T straight up. Collier and Mo T are worthless. One more factor to consider is Mo's huge contract. LA is wary, like most teams, of the luxury tax. If LA is going to go over the tax, they will probably do it only for a player that is better than Mo T.
George might not be an important piece of the Fakers, but definitely,Horry is an important piece of the puzzle!! I doubt it so much, that the Fakers are ready to give up,Horry!! But nice try!
I don't think the Rockets should even consider this trade. No way I'd give up Mo T for Horry. Maybe KT, but not Mo. This would definitely help out the Lakers than it would us, and that's not a good idea.
KALIKUKI, Please back away from the comma key. You are butchering the use of it. A friendly reminder.
Is today April 1? Rudy T and CD would deal Mo T in a heartbeat for Horry. For one thing, Horry would help fans "relive" the glory days. Sad to say, but Horry is 5 times more popular than Mo is. Also, Horry makes half the money that Mo makes. Did I mention that the Rockets need defense? Something that Mo can't do, but Horry can. Looks like someone started their drinking a bit early tonight.
The Lakers wouldn't come near Collier and T-Mo.This would amount to trading T-Mo for George and Mo-T for Horry.Horry has been clutch for them and they already have Samaki Walker and Slava Medvedenko at the power forward spot. They won't take Mo-T either. I probably would do this trade even though I want to give Mo-T another chance but after seeing Ming's impressive midrange shooting he is starting to look expendable.
