    T-Mac for Shaq

It appears the Salaries match...maybe Phoenix would have to throw in some filler...I think this is a deal that could work out for both teams. The Rockets get added depth at the Center position...T-Mac might fit better in the Suns running style along with Nash.

This deal could also extend both Shaq and Yao's careers by allowing them both to play fewer minutes.

    What are your thoughts?

You also have the option of starting Shaq at PF.

That would monster frontline. We get killed by jump shooting teams, but we throttle every other type of team though.

How would that work with two of the slowest centers in the league?

Still this team would be un-guardable in the post.

Plus I'm not so sure of that statement..Shaq is well aware of his age...and he might welcome playing fewer minutes for the chance of getting another ring or 2.

I thought about this trade once before, but the problem is that I think we need a wing player that can score, create his own shot and shots for others. Wing player is first with backup center close second. If you can't find the right deal for a wing I would entertain a TMac and Shaq deal.

Everything else aside, why would Phoenix do it? What is the incentive for them?

They get a MUCH younger player that can score and also is more suited for their style of play.

Shaq just had a pretty good year. I definitely don't think he would want to backup Yao.

How is T-mac suited to play the fast pace style that Phoenix plays?

One of the big problems when Rafer was here that nobody would run with him but Scola when he tried to push the ball up the floor.

Agreed. Tmac is a half-court player, and need the ball to be effective. I doubt he and nash can co-exist on the court.

Why is it a dumb thread? I think its worth discussion. Les is about making the blockbuster move...well this would be a HUGE blockbuster move and I think it would put the Rockets right on par with the Lakers in the West. It is a low risk, high reward type of move.

Agreed, I fail to see how a guy who is injury prone coming off knee surgery fits this style of offense when he did not run before the knee injury.

What does Rafer is no Steve Nash have to do with the fact that when Houston tried to run only 1 player ran with Rafer.

Just because he is not Steve Nash does not mean T-mac and the rest of the guys should not run with him when he is trying to get an easy quick basket.

I'm saying T-Mac will run with Steve Nash. Rafer Alston is not great at running the fast break.
