It would be tough to let Francis go after his "superstar" breakout game Friday, but would the Rockets be better off with a true point guard and much improved basketball IQ from Brand and Miller?

    hell no
andre miller was brought into LA to become their saving grace, finally they had an "awesome" point guard to distribute the ball. What happened was he got too selfish and started scoring more than he should. Brand is a good 18/10 guy and in a couple of years, that is exactly what Eddie Griffin will become. I think the trade off in points will be about even, but the breakup in chemistry will be horrible.

Wow, absolutely no Stevie haters on this board today. I would probably not pull the trigger either, but the thought of a true point guard to compliment Yao sure is enticeing. And while I still think Eddie will develop into an elite PF (and maybe an all-star someday), I don't think he will ever be as good as Brand.

    YES :D

    Let me explain.

Currently, there should be no debate that Brand and Miller are the better tandem vs Steve and Eddie. Many argue about the chemistry issues but to tell you the truth, I dont think our current chemistry is that great as is (from an offensive viewpoint). Eddie continues to jack outside shots and although Stevie was amazing, he is still more of a shooting guard in my book.

As for the future, I like Eddie alot but everyone on this board is way too optimistic of Eddie. His game (style) will never be like Brand. Eddie prefers to shoot 3s and outside shots while Brand is a work horse in the paint utilizing post moves. If anything, Eddie will be more like a Rashard Lewis. And there is nothing wrong with that. Lewis is a good player.

In conclusion, we get 2 of the EXACT types of players we need on this team. Some may say that in a few years, Francis will be the ideological PG and Eddie will be our dominating bruising PF but why take a chance when you can get the real thing.

If the Clips were to make that trade with us, I think we will win the championship for years to come.

    Yao/Cato
    Brand/Mo T
    Posey/Rice/Nachbar
    Mobley/T Mo
    Miller/Moochie

    WOW!!!

Absolutely not. It would be one of the worst moves in the history of professional sports in Houston.

The combination of A. Miller and Brand haven't done crap. Francis is getting some attention as a League MVP candidate which is somethin Miller will never do.

I wouldn't go that far. Brand is pretty bad ass. 20 pt 10 rebound guys aren't that common.
