Salaries aside, would you trade Francis for Steve Nash? 2 years ago I think the Rockets' answer would be "no," but know I am not so sure...

For that matter, would you trade Francis for:

    Baron Davis?
    Mike Bibby?
    Marbury?

Kirk Hinrich? Obviously not, but I like his game... certainly plays better D than SF.

at what point does loyalty to the team cross the boundaries of common sense?

There is no other pg in the NBA that I would rather have than Steve Francis.

It was "yes" in a heartbeat, but now I am willing to wait until the end of the season. I was one of the big SF haters before he started to change. He's demonstrated that he's trying to change the way he plays since a few weeks before the All-star break. I am seeing a gradual improvement, though his stats has sunk. All I can say is I look pass his numbers.

Davis: no, well...maybe. I don't see a lot of Hornet games

Marbury: where do I sign up? he is what Francis wants to be. Maybe not the best for our system, but Marbury is much better than Francis.

Bibby: not a playmaker (I know...neither is Steve, save it) , better jumpshooter.

Hinrich: depends on how much else they give us.

I think Nash is a free angent next year. Let's sign him and move Francis to the 2 and bring Mobley off the bench. Cool

In the current Rockets JVG offense I feel taking care of the ball (low turnovers) and jump shooting is the most important. I dont think 'playmaking' is as important. Thus I feel guys like Bibby and Nash would be the perfect PG for this team.

I am still holding on that decision till the end of March. I believe by then Steve should be either on top his game or on his way out.:)

    Deuce,
I agree with you about not needing a playmaker at PG, but if it was there I would take Marbury over Francis just because he is a better player, not because he fits our system.

These guys are at the same level SF is. But none of them fit our system. I would go for A. Miller.

    Perhaps the question should be:

Would Cuban trade Nash for Francis? No

both players are good in a up-tempo game, but dunno if they are still good in a half court?

well, sf is changing. you can't deny what he's done recently. because he is so athletic, he will be great if he can mix what he's already had with what he is learning now. coz the way he used to play and the way he is heading to are so dfferent, it takes a lot of time to make a transition
