Simple question. Would you resign him. He's not exactly in game shape ( most players with his surgery miss a whole season, see Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin) yet he's had a couple 20 point nights in NY plus he's still being double teamed and a good passer. Would you sign him for mle if he was willing to come back home and for the cheap and still play decently let's say after we took bosh/stoudemire and maybe chris paul? It seems like not a bad move since we're inevitably gonna lose Battier and possibly trade away scola.
Tracy wouldn't even consider coming back here, so it's a moot point to even think about looking at him during free agency. The relationship is over, especially if RA is around.
I would sign Tracy McGrady if I was another team for $3 million or less(maybe more depending on how he finishes the season). I wouldn't sign him to play for the Rockets because of how the last year or so went.
McGrady aint coming back to Houston as long as Adelman and Morey are still employed and vice versa. The bridge was burned the moment he announced Micro without telling anyone on the Rockets staff and blocked numerous trades. We coulda had Vince Carter last year, but his ass didn't want to go to New Jersey.
I wouldnt sign tmac to a 2 day contract delivering pizzas, because I know that he's gonna give, and quit the route in the middle of day
He would have to be willing to come off the bench. A starter being in and out of the lineup all of the time creates team chemistry issues as we got to see last season for the Rockets. IMO, Knicks' Coach Mike D'Antoni is just messing around starting him since he knows his team doesn't have a chance to make the playoffs. T-Mac is still the same T-Mac we saw last season prior to his microfacture knee surgery IMO.
McGrady won't sign on to just contribute. He'll want to headline, even though he obviously can't do that, unless it's with a team that has someone that he would think is better (only James and Wade probably fall in that category).
NO Tracy McGrady is done as a Rocket, or as a solid contributor to an NBA for that matter. He will either retire this year or sign on the cheap for a title contender next year (Celtics, Cavs)
LOL! Yeah, I guess we all know who the REAL ******* is now, right? I love T-Mac as much as the next guy, but when I learned that he blocked a trade for VC, man I was pissed! Imagine a lineup of this: Brooks Carter Artest Scola Yao/Hayes (when Yao was injured in the 2nd Round.) We coulda really won against the Lakers in game 7 and quite possibly would have raised our 3rd championship banner! Ugh!
I could see a team making that kind of offer, but not TMac accepting it. The exception is the unlikely event of LeBron and Bosh signing with the Knicks.
