A lot of you will think this is a stupid thread but I'm wondering what the majority of you guys think. Would you rather we have JVG the head coach right now? I don't think that the players are responding to Adelman's system or the players are just not a fit for it. JVG also gives us a leader which this team currently doesn't have. We aren't even a team known for defense anymore. Do you think that the reason we were so good at defense last year was because of JVG's prior year?
Yes, I mean our offense sucks, it's better to have the ultimate defense, THOUGH I would not have JVG without Tom Tib..
I've said this for a week now, OUR players don't LIKE Adelman. You can just tell by there body language. I have no clue why our PGs are not setting up McGrady and Yao. It seems like McGrady has to do everything. Brooks & Alston = 4-25 16%
As much as everyone hates JVG, there's no denying that we were consistently one of the best defensive teams in the league with him. When we didn't have our shot, we could always fall back on defense. Now, we've got nothing.
Can we quit talking about JVG? The guy has been gone for over a year or so now. It's time to move on! JVG is not Shaq after he left L.A. His impact is not as huge as people make it to be.
I am pretty sure the offense would be fine too. When he was here he had guys like Weatherspoon and Head starting in the playoffs. Now Head doesn't even see PT.
Yes yes and yes. A million times yes. JVG would have taken this roster and made opponents fear us. They knew when they came in they would have to deal with a beast of a team that would continously interrupt their offensive flow, disrupting their game plan. There was nothing that I loved more than seeing an opponent team frustrated out of their minds because they couldn't do what they normally did. I don't care for ugly offense, I like to see Ws, and gritty defense that befuddles the opponents is so sweet.
Yeah seriously he isn't coming back. But to answer the question, yeah, we'd be much better off. This is still his team, Adelman is r****ded.
I was someone who defended JVG. I thought that even though he had some faults, he couldn't be blamed for the series loss against Utah and that firing him was premature; after all the team was performing well and with some better pieces at supporting cast could very well be a championship contender. I'm embracing the same attitude with Adelman. You can't just run him out of town prematurely...I just feel like the first time we did it with JVG may have cost the team a s***load. I mean, think of what JVG could have done with Scola alone...man, all things considered, I wish the Rockets never fired JVG in the first place. Now that they have, they better learn from that mistake.
If JVG was HIRED now, we would be a top 5 defensive team and ATLEAST a top 15 offense. Book it. We have so many better players now then back then.
We dumped Gundy to get a phoenix like offense to replace our knick like defense. Now we have a crappy D and crappy O. Kinda sucks but oh well.... But could you imagine what JVG could do with this team? Adding artest, brooks, and landry? Wow....
Yeah getting put out the 1st round just like adelman. I don't like what is going on neither but Adelman is coaching a team that continues to flip flop rotation because of players being out. Adelman is coaching a team without a Good/Great Point Guard Now I would like to see Adelman stop putting Yao at the high post and use Deke some more but lets not act like he's coaching a Healthy Boston Celtics team.
