If we can re-sign Dragic for $10 million per season or less and he agrees to play alongside Lowry, would you rather have Lowry and Dragic or Deron Williams?

Logic dictates that if we were able to sign Deron by some miracle, that we would either not sign Dragic and subsequently trade Lowry, or at the very least we would sign Dragic and dangle Dragic and Lowry along with other pieces for a possible Dwight trade.

However, as time goes on, I am getting more and more fed up with the primma donna attitude of Dwight and I am getting more and more sold on Dragic and Lowry's attitudes and leadership.

After watching them play last night, I know that Lowry and Dragic can co-exist and thrive. Dragic wants to start and have the ball in his hands...understandable. And Lowry already gets it. And Lowry approves. Lowry is such a gamer, such a winner, such a tremendous leader. And Dragic is all of the same things. I really like the combination a whole lot. And the best part about having the two of them together is if one of them goes down, the other one can pick up and run the team on his own and as long as we've got an effective big guard to go with that combo (Lee or someone else), then we can continue to win the majority of our games while the other is absent. I'm not worried about small sample size and knee jerk. That's ridiculous.

We've watched Lowry for several years. We know what he is. He's a junkyard dog, a gamer, a leader, a great visionary mind on the court, and a highly skilled baller to boot that can defend and score the ball in addition to making the right play all the time.

And now Goran. Dude just totally plays hard every second he's on the floor. He's always thinking, always watching, he defends like crazy, he's highly skilled, he plays to win, not caring about stat lines, and his attitude lights up the room. He's a big time player and he's only going to get better.

No primma donna attitudes in either of these guys. Guys that have played for multiple coaches in multiple systems and they keep coming to the top like cream. There is nothing not to like and there is everything to like about them. I think they are championship mettle individually and even more so in combination.

So, my question is would you rather have Deron and a chance at acquiring Dwight, or would you rather have Lowry and Dragic and bigs like Camby, Garnett, and possibly a player like Pau, to go along with guys like Patterson and Motie?

I am very torn right now.

What we have now. We have the best 1 rotation including Chris Paul and Billups.

Lowry/Dragic all the way. Not even close. I can't stand Deron.

And if Dwight were smart, he would want to come here.

This combo also attracts a wide variety of fans. Chubby kids and eastern Europeans.

Very well reasoned post, jopatmc. You argue so eloquently for the Lowry/Dragic combination that I cannot see how you suggest at the end that you're torn. To me the choice is crystal clear. Lowry, Dragic, team chemistry.

Motie coming over will be a big boost in the middle. We're looking great for next season and down the road if DM can extend Dragic.

Who would be our backup for Deron? If it's some scrub or NBA rookie I would rather have the sure things in Lowry and Dragic.

I like the lowry and dragic combo better. It's the back court of the future.
Like I said in the other thread, perception is everything. If these guys had been drafted by the rockets with top five picks, posters on here would be a little on ease about the future instead of always being debbie downers. You'd think lowry and dragic are 34 and 35 years old. =/

what we need now is a four with length and offensive fire power to be scola's apprentice.

Dragic is like Ginobili, but with more playmaking skills to boot.

    Lowry/Dragic = Parker/Ginobili

That has been proven as more of a winning combination than Deron Williams + scrub.

Ginobili will be 35 this year, Parker 30.

Lowry/Dragic are entering their prime now.

    Let the homerism begin!

You take the Deron 100%. You think Howard want's to play along Dragic/Lowry or Deron Williams?

Morey found Lowry, Dragic and almost Lin. What makes you think he can't do it again?

Deron Williams is a superstar, he can attract other superstars (see Dwight Howard).

Duncan played pretty well with Parker/Ginobili.

Duncan got drafted and had no choice. The question is can Dragic and Lowry lure another star to play here because Dragic and Lowry alone aren't going to win you a Championship.

I also take offense to you comparing Gino with Dragic. Talk about apples and oranges. Gino is a better athlete than Dragic and his playmaking is magical and better than Dragic. A healthy Manu is a top 10 NBA player.

We desperately need scoring down low besides Scola.

IMO, if I were a center, I would rather play with Lowry/Dragic. More fun for me, more alley-oops for me. (But of course, I am not.)

Do you think they would be attractive enough for Garnett? And do you think Garnett, Camby, Scola, Motie, and Patterson is a good enough big rotation in combination with Lowry, Dragon, Parsons, and Lee on the perimeter?
