During Super Bowl Weekend , i was texting my Cuz sister about the game and she was like " Aaron Rodgers is really cute guy ". I was joking like " ya he is not married , maybe you marry him haha". My Cuz is in her late 20's , she is pretty good looking. I was thinking it is bad enough we got "normal " people cheating a lot these days , don't we expect the "Celebrities " to cheat more often due to more money, fame and etc....

Would you encourage / discourage your Sisters/Cousins/Mothers , other close females to marry a "Celebrity"?

This could also applies to females vice versa , since we have few ladies on the forum ;)

for real you cant make a statement like that without proof.

if it was a cousin i wouldnt care

sister it depends on what type of fame the person, depends on my comfort level but in the ends its their decision not mine so as long as they are happy who am I to judge?

    Athletes = Celebrity?

Maybe just "the cute ones"? WTF.

I don't think of athletes as celebrities, mind you. Please offer your argument. Is it only because "they're on TV"?

i dont think they really need our permission...especially a cousin??

I think there's a preception that celebs commonly cheat or are more likely, but i'd say they don't cheat any more often than the average person. Ultimately i think it comes down to the type of person they are and not their bank account. I think people underestimate how much "normal" people cheat..

Just how much responsibility do you have over who your sister, cousin, mother or other female should marry?

Character is something that does not discriminate between "normal" folks and "celebrities." If the guy or girl has character, who he/she is in life, and what kind of social status they hold will have no bearing. Being a celebrity means that your devotion will be tested much more often by people who are looking for their 15 minutes, but again, character never wavers. If my brother/cousin found somebody famous that I felt was completely devoted to him/her, I would have no problem with it.

I agree 100%! I was having an argument about this with one of buddies during a pick up game. Had to stop the Game because of the argument.

I think there are a few Athletes that can call themselves celebrities.

Tom Brady, Lebron, Shaq, Micheal Jordan and a couple others.

To be a celebrity, I think you have to be easily identifiable to everyone, even starving children in Zambia.

Come on man you can't make thread and make statements like "she is pretty good looking" and not post pics of her.

    WTF?

"men are only as loyal as their options"

...and who blames them, really? if i married a athlete/star i would not kid myself from the get-go that he would be monogamous. the lifestyle would probably be a nice trade-off anyways.

Celebrity = notoriety. You can be a celebrity in your sphere of influence. For example- Aaron Rodgers. He's a celebrity in Green Bay. He's now a celebrity in the sphere of the NFL. I doubt that my grandma would recognize him, though.

Jesse James, the motorcycle guy. Only people who watched his show and other Harley types were aware of him before he married and cheated on America's sweetheart. Now he's on the cover of every supermarket tabloid. My grandma might know who is.

We can ratchet it up a tad. Will Smith is a worldwide celebrity. But I doubt some yokel in backwoods China without a TV would recognize him. But they probably know of Yao Ming.

That's not true for every man. But then again, character isn't stressed in our society, so you're 99% right.

Considering my sister has hooked up with Pauly Shore and the guitar player for Buck Cherry in the past and got nothing out of it I guess I wouldn't mind if she married a celebrity without a pre-nup ;)

They have high-paying, performance-based jobs that are the highest-rated programs on television.
