Some of you guys might remember Rockfan, who used to post at this message board a while back. Before he left (I still don't even know why), he offered the opportunity for someone to take over his site. I asked him about it and he told me I could have it and manage it together with somebody else from this board (can't quite remember who). Well, he never gave me the account information and I never got word from the other BBS member. I was thinking about opening a similar page with updated Rocket links and such, but I first want to check if that is fine with all of those in the community. Also, who is the guy who was supposed to help with the page? And what the hell happened to Rockfan? PS- The original page is located at the following address: http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Bench/1261/start.html ------------------ Nederland 2002 Qualifying Campaign (Damn those penalties!!!) Cool idea Ace. I have no idea what happened to Rockfan, or who the other person was. Let us know when your site is ready. ------------------ "Get up, stand up. Stand up for your right"-Bob Marley
Ace-- I dont know if you've checked the archives yet, but if not, this is what Rockfan had to say when asked a similar question back on November 14,1999... "I haven't been kidnapped by George Karl Antisonic, don't worry...I could never allow some ringless, balding, Kevin Willis bashing, Rudy T dissing guy to hold me hostage in his attic...No way, I've just been 2 busy - I still log on to the page everyday, sometimes looking in the BBS...I feel like Charles Jones of the BBS (actual age of CJ may be closer to Keeley) -- Still around, doesn't do to much, forgotten about until every 30 games or so when I light up Ostertag for 2 points and a rebound...I don't see me posting anymore than 2 or 3 times a week, but I'll make sure I have one every week..." Back in the day, we used to chat on AIM. Somewhere around the time of that posting he said that he was becoming extremely busy... Here's some contact info from his profile. Hopefully, it's not outdated... E-Mail: "andy8582@yahoo.com" AIM: "tone99loc" As for the info on his site, I couldn't help you there. Sorry... Rockfan- if you're out there, come back to us, man!!! ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... Next year
I too, remember Rockfan . . . I guess he will go under the Clutch BBS's Unsolved Mystery file, along with Barzilla, RocketGirl and a couple others. They may be watching us, or they may not be. Actually Anti, you were recently removed from that file yourself. For a while there, I thought you were lost in obscurity like you were Serge Zwikker. Btw, whats your AIM user name Anti, I never see you online anymore? Azim da Dream ------------------ We don't live for the destination. We live for the journey.
Azim- I stopped using AOL about seven months ago, but never got around to downloading AIM again... Just got it today. The new screenname is "antisonic2000" . ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... Next year
What in the world ever happened to Rocketgirl? ------------------ Going for the Rolls Royce! visit www.swirve.com
Which Rocket girl though? There was that one that popped in here a few times with that unbelievable pic in her profile. So Indeed, where is Rocketgirl(34 wasnt it)
I have come across rocketgirl in the MSN basketball chat room. She was the one that got me to start posting in here. I used to go to the BBS and just read the posts (as I'm sure many people do) and never post. She told me to jump right in and start posting. So I did. I have not seen her since ------------------ "Get up, stand up. Stand up for your right"-Bob Marley
I went and checked it out. It is a very NICE pic. http://home.pacbell.net/rj99/RocketGirl.html Mango ------------------ 1. Put new topics in the proper forum 2. Use clear wording for new threads 3. I think you're right RM95, the girl with the nice pic was Rocketgirl94 or something, while Rocketgirl was a regular poster, who disappeared more than a year ago. Like you said, she escorted a player on to the court a couple of years ago, I think it was Rodrick Rhodes. I remember she came back to the BBS for a bit, then had a heated argument with BKagy (go figure), and was never seen from again. Another good poster that hasn't seen much action lately is JeffB. Is he another lurker? Azim da Dream ------------------ We don't live for the destination. We live for the journey.
LOL!! Finn*, that rocketgirl in the chat room was me! Sorry I haven't said anything sooner, it's been good to see you posting. But I'm not the same rocketgirl you guys have been thinking about...oh well. ------------------ Let me tell you this... I don't care.
That Rocketgirl 34 was a phony. It was a Laker poster playing games. Back when the Laker people were on this board, I went to check out the LA Times board and found the guy who admitted to the hoax. Naturally, he was bragging about fooling all the rednecks (his word, not mine) in here. I'm sure the admins caught on and booted him/her. ------------------ [This message has been edited by grummett (edited July 22, 2000).]
I think it did have a Pac Bell account for that writeup which says "West Coast" But still, a nice pic. Mango ------------------ 1. Put new topics in the proper forum 2. No argument here. If I remember right, that page also had a link to a Playboy site. ------------------
I'm pretty sure that's not the one I'm talking about. The one I'm referring to lived here, had season tickets, and got to escort a player onto the court during one of the games. ------------------ Going for the Rolls Royce! visit www.swirve.com
Ah, the wonderful days of the wars with the Blazer & Lakers fans. Ah, the wonderful day when we could argue that we were better than those teams. Ah well, at least we dont have Snottie Pippen anymore! ------------------ Who's ya daddy?
