Should the Rockets make offseason decisions based on advice from this board?

Well, it's going to get pretty boring around here for a while, so let's have some fun at our own expense. Please answer the question honestly, and assume that no one from the Rockets organization will read it.

I think there are some good ideas brought up here and there. And there is probably three times as many horrible ideas. We are all armchair GMs. I dont pretend to think I can be a better GM than CD or anyone in the NBA. It isnt an easy job. But the discussion is fun! ;)

All I am asking CD to do this summer is just be PROACTIVE in his player search. Think outside the box, be bold!

Exactly. I mean this is vintage; germane to the question at hand.

NO WAY we are all a bunch of whiny internet geeks, who do nothing but criticise and complain.. no matter the situation

why on earth should a professional team listen to us

    I already feel good William!!!!!

Having posters in this bbs (besides myself of course) in charge of the team would be a disaster. We would have a new coach after every loss. The first time a player has a bad game, he would be GONE. Not traded, but cut.

    No thanks.

i wouldn't question their professionalism for listening to us.

i would just question their intelligence, because the collective IQ here for personel moves is negative.

This is largely a fantasy, however, there are some very insightful anaylses on this board, actually better than many in the media. There are obviously basketball people who contribute, and we might be surprised who is actually here. I think there are some sportwriters on this board, some ex-players, some ex-coaches, and some posters who are actually currently connected to NBA teams. I think there are some relatives of current Rocket's players. Also, there are twelve year olds, the addicted, the lonely, and the lost. If the Rocket's management will take the time, there is some valuable information here. And since FANS PAY THE BILLS, I WOULD PAY ATTENTION!

Why should they listen to us? Some of us can't even spell criticize correctly. ;) Seriously, it would be scary if the front office followed our advice.

Considering that the time I waste here would be better spent doing something more productive and germane to my real job. I'm not sure I would even take my own advice that seriously if I was running the Rox.

That said if the Rox were to pay me..wink wink nudge nudge Tim.. I would certainly devote much more time and effort than I currently do to research into ways to improve the Rox play and bottom line.

FYI incase any Rockets staff are actually reading this. I work in the fields of architecture and urban planning. In those fields I have run community outreach programs, developed graphical and marketing strategies, project managed, done consulting for politicians and have experience in SE Asia.

So if there are any positions at the Rockets for someone with that background send me a message through the send private message function of Clutchfans.

    :D

Sorry Clutch for the marketing promo and if the Rox do give me a job I will gladly contribute a facilitation fee to the tipjar. :D

....well they wouldn't have been paying almost 8 million for a PF who seems averse to getting a rebound.

Also, I could have told them that Maloney was getting paid too much.

That the FA deal of getting Shandon on a low money contract turned out to be no bargain after taking on Rice to keep up the promise of a future payoff for Anderson.

Pay somebody for what they are really worth and forget the lowball entry concept coupled with the future payoff promise.

Very true. I don't remember many people being happy with the Cato and Mooch contracts. And there weren't a lot of people happy with the MoT and Rice deals either.

Some of the few people on this board I wouldn't mind the rox listening to are Clutch, Gator, and aelliot. Of course their opinions closely mirror my own, so of course I'm biased. :)
