I am very concerned we may miss Van Gundy, so I need a time out... Here is a trade proposal I think would really help us:

    Rockets trade- Mobley and Cato

To Dallas for- Nash and Najera (and anything that would make it work)

Plus for Dallas- they get a starting center who is stronger and tougher in the paint. They get a guard who can run to go with Van Exel.

Plus for Houston- we get a point guard who can really push the break, is unselfish as a floor leader and would get everyone involved. and we get a good position rebounder who hustles at the 4 spot. We sign another backup center and play griffin there some.

    1) Nash is what makes that team go. Without his running around like a chicken with his head cut off, their offense would not be as efficient. Also, compared to the rest of the roster, Nash has a very cap friendly contract for his production. Next to Nowitzki, Nash is the most untouchable player on that roster.

    2) They have no need for Mobley, when they have Finley.

    3) They have huge cap issues/potential luxury tax issues. They are already paying two mediocre centers $15 MIL per year. I don't think they really are interested in taking on Cato's too. What he would give them over LaFrentz would be negligeable.

    4) Teams rarely trade star players within their own division.

I would do that in a second. They wouldn't do it, though. Nash and Nowitzki are really close.

Codell, I think Cato would be tempting to Dallas because this past season he did 3 unexpected things: He ran the floor, played agressively and shut down the paint on D.

    Dallas has no interior D.

I agree Nash is probably untouchable, I am not sure if there is a way we could trade for him, but he would be a perfect fit here.

I would at least talk about Nash to Nelson and see if anything would work outside of giving Francis or Ming.

Codell said everything I wanted to say.
If I was Houston...I would do it. Yes indeed.
    But I'm not Houston.
    And uhh..ain't gonna happen.
All the reasons have been pointed out.
They would trade Nick Van Exel first.

Also..to all my haters...I just had to post in something not related to coaching.

And I agree with Baqui's post down there.

Najera really sucks. All he does is hit people and flop and suck. He's useless! He really sucks. He just bumps into people. He's good at it though.

I also agreewith Baqui's other post down there. Bradley....well he did make like 6 shots against the Rockets..but anyways...he's a stick who just hacks people. And he curses all day!

And lol. Wouldn't everyone want to do Francis and Cato for Nowitzki?

But yeah...then Nick Van Exel, Steve Nash, and Steve Francis wouldn't go too well.

Just trying to be post efficient.

Najera is the modern day version of Bill Laimbeer. He doesn't have any real talent, so he just goes after people. He's been a cheap shot artist since his days at OU. He's probably my most hated player in the NBA.

The Mavs would love to have Cato, after that horrible display that Raef LaFrentz put on. He was equally bad offensively as he was defensively. I'm sure Cuban would love to add a tough guy like Cato.

If you don't get help at charter, please get help somewhere. Bradley does little more than run up and down the floor throwing his sharpened elbows around and picking up cheap fouls. For that he has a $48 million dollar contract.

I'd rather trade Francis and Cato for Nowitzki.

Najera has talent, he's just not a star. He fouls hard because that is the way OU plays basketball, if you're going to foul, make it count. He hustles harder than any two players on the Rockets and we never should have traded him for Langhi. Yeah, that trade worked out well didn't it.

This trade would be good if we signed Gary Payton.

    Gary Payton/Nick Van Exel/Steve Francis/Moochie Norris
    Steve Francis/Gary Payton/Nick Van Exel/James Posey/Juaquin Hawkins
    James Posey/Bostjan Nachbar/Terence Morris/Glen Rice/Juaquin Hawkins
    Eddie Griffin/Maurice Taylor/Shawn Bradley
    Yao Ming/Shawn Bradley

Mobley is not good enough to get Nash....we would have to give up Francis, which may not be a bad thing to consider.

Francis & Mobley for Nash & Finley?

    I'd definitely consider it.

I would do it..but once again..never gonna happen.....and Mark Cuban wouldn't do it. Steve Nash and Finley and Nowitzki are very good friends. Well....maybe he would do it.
