Seeing that Detroit got the number two pick in the draft would you trade Steve Francis, a former number two for the pick.
Not that Detroit or Houston would do this trade, I am not suggesting this as a rumor or a suggestion, just a question.
Would you pull the trigger on this trade?

    I personally would not.

Can't say. Don't know enough about Darko.

I wouldn't do it for Melo though.

Its going to take time for darko and melo to become stars. I would consider it ,a big man like darko dosent come along to often. Melo is a stud... The real question is have we seen the best that steve can get...I dont think so but if the Rockets management thinks they have this trade could be a positive for both teams. its a tough one Melo is like 19 Darko is 17 Steve is 25 I believe. Its tough but I keep Steve just for the selfish reason that I want the Rockets to win soon

That would be a tempting deal that I'm sure Detroit would think about. I guess my decision on the deal would depend on who the Pistons offer with the pick to match salaries. If the matching salary has any sort of value, I'd probably do it. This is all under the assumption that Darko's the real deal...

Just like anything else, why would Detroit do this? They get to draft Darko and not have the pressure of him saving the franchise. Not only this, this team has their backcourt set with Hamilton and Billups. I highly doubt Detroit is looking to make this deal unless they're crazy.

well Detroit could entertain some offers just for kicks.....like trade the #2 to fill in the positions that they need to fill.

How about Francis for Billups and #2?

Why would the Pistons do it? Because if they get swept by the Nets, it is obvious they need some more firepower

If they threw in Billups, I'd consider it. Of course I've never seen Darko play, but even Billups and Melo would look pretty nice. I still don't think Detroit would do it though.

why would we trade a proven all star like francis for a draft pick? we already got Yao. The people who want this trade better like being in the lotery because if we trade francis for a draft pick we willl be in the lotery for some years.

NO! This year's draft is WEAK.

Francis should have been the #1 pick overall instead of the 2nd. Who is better now Brand or Francis?

Now Francis for Duncan; I would do in a NY minute.

Yes, I would. We are talking potential superstar in Darko. Steve isn't a superstar (i.e. Duncan, Garnett, Iverson)

Say what you want about Steve, but he's an established NBA star.

There's not one prospect I'd be willing to trade him for straight up, it would have to be for another young star.

    Period.

Right now, I'd probably say no because it's so risky. But if the Rockets scout Darko and see the same type of ability they saw in Yao. If they think he can be even close to as good as Garnett like many scouts think I'd pull the trigger on that deal in a heartbeat.

All of Steve's flaws aside, if a player entered this current draft, and any GM could look into the future and know that that player would average 20, 6, and 6 his first 4 years in the league, then I can guarantee you that player would be the #1 pick.

Aside from the fact that he had a better team around him and was able to win the NCAA tourney, what precisely separates Carmelo ANthony from Eddie Griffin?

    heart,

Seriously, the biggest concern I have with Eddie is his willingness to get better and become a good player.
