Calvin Murphy for Bill Walton? (In the booth of course) I say heck no. But Bill did have me rollin' with that "throw down big man, throw it down". What do yall think?
Nope. I actually like Calvin. He's pretty funny. Walton's ok at being funny, but I really don't like him. I also think the Calvin-Bill team would be better than the Bill-Bill one. (hey, it kind of like the Astros with B.Brown.) They're pretty good together.
"That is the worst inbounds pass in the history of Clipper basketball" Yeah, I think I would actually.
I like our Team, they do a good job but could improve.Cut out all the cookie talk, Calvins Wardrobe and all the teasing. A more accurate description of the game would be an improvement, with more replays. PS. Calvin needs a more competent Tailor and serious Fashion Advice. Bill Walton would be good in spots(on tape) to talk about Yao Ming.
(Not that this a problem) Do you guys ever notice that Bill and Calvin have the same little comment about a player everytime the Rox play against the player's team. i.e Kevin Garnett: "Garnett's a gym rat, after this game's over he'll go to the gym and play another one". Brent Barry: "I remember when he was a young kid here as a ballboy". I know there is a lot more but I can't think of them right now. Can ya'll?
No way. Calvin is a true loyal fan who always sticks by the Rockets no matter how bad they're doing. Bill always sides with the team that is on top at that particular moment.
I hate that guy, he sucks, he makes me soo mad! I met him at the Millennium game against the clippers and I told him I thought he kissed Shaq's butt, he just stared at me then I pushed to the side but a man in a black suit!
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Calvin is pretty funny. I think Calvin and bill makes a pretty good tean so I wouldn't do it
no way, one of my favorite parts of rocket games is listening to calvin even though he's corny. i used to really, really hate walton(in the championship days) until i realized he was just trying to stir things up. otherwise he does have a good knowledge of basketball. htownhero that quote is hilarious.
In a hearbeat. Calvin is just plain annoying to me. He doesn't really have wit, that makes him funny. It's just his overall enthusiasm that compells viewers. Walton, has the wit, and the knoweledge of the game to be the best... I doubt Walton would want to leave his Clippers gig though.
I know Calvin Murphy likes attention and carries on about the chocolate chip cookies and the clothing, but he does break a game down very well. His analysis is right on target. I really like the way he can break it down during a close game. Bill Walton is good for an occasional laugh, but I rank him down there with Ahmad RAshad or Snapper Jones-a know it all not really good for the NBA to attract potential fans channel surfing...
Calvin's antics have become very old and about half way thru each season it's hard to listin to him. A school that would bake and send Calvin some cookies filled with x-lax would make many rocket fans day.
I simply cannot f&*king listen to Calvin. Bill is alright. I am so tired of hearing about Calvin's pathetic playing days during every game. He refers to himself playing about once every three minutes and he tries to make it sound like if he was out there on the court and in his prime the rockets would roll over all competition. He actually used to be okay but he has gotten way more senile over the years and needs to retire. And Bill looks like he is about to die. I don't know about Walton but we need some new guys. I have to listen to the games on mute. Luckily I am usually down at the sports bar. Let's get some guys from this board to go and broadcast.
Although I would love to get rid of Calvin, as an announcer, I don't think I could stand listening to Walton either. I'd rather turn on the radio and listen to Gene.
