A spin-off of the booing Tracy poll.

If you were in the Toyota Center on April 7th when the Magic come to town, would you applaud Rafer during the starting line-up announcements?
    -----
I would cheer for him during the announcements but boo during the game.

Sure. Other than a couple off-season arrests, erratic shooting, and at times questionable decision-making, he was a model player for us.

That sentence didn't sound as complimentary as I intended it to. I am being sincere, though.

I agree with the OP and the first reply which makes it hard to vote.

My answer is 'yes' and 'no'...

I'd cheer when Rafer has the ball, but boo whenever anyone else on the Magic has the ball.

    :)

No big deal. You brought up an interesting point, in my opinion. I think it's safe to say McGrady, who is considered the far superior basketball talent, would very likely get far more boos if he played for another team than a guy like Rafer. That is probably due to the fact that Rafer played hard and was committed to winning even if he was a lesser talent.

why would anyone boo rafer? He did what was asked for him and was respectful the entire time. I'll give him some claps when they announce his name but I won't cheer or boo him after that.

What would you do hypothetically if McGrady got traded next season and was actually playing for another team against the Rockets at TC?

I do think it would be easier to boo a guy like McGrady, who is an underachieving superstar, than a guy like Rafer, who is a below average talent that works his butt off.

I've got a soft spot for most all former Rockets players. The only one I've really disliked of late was Bonzi Wells. I think I'd boo him. McGrady? ... nah.

Why would we boo him during entrance?

He's been a class guy who gave his best to his team. His best maybe wasn't good enough but no one ever said "Rafer gave no effort tonight..."

As Doc said...he can take losing, but you can't accept losing if you're not out there giving your best.

I never understand why people would boo players that used to play for your team (ofcourse except when they screwed the team, Like Pippen with us and Boozer with the cavs). Especially in this case, Rafer didn't leave us, the rockets shipped him away.

I think you should always pay your respect to an old rockets player who gave his best when he was with us. So I would not boo him and I would cheer during the entrance. During the game I would not cheer or Boo.

Rafer had played hard and gave his heart full for the team so there is no reason to boo him! If he made his teardrops against the Rockets then i will boo him!
