He's a restricted FA, and I really don't see him resigning with the Lakers if they don't retain Shaq. His 3pt shot is really improved, and he was probably the Lakers second-best post feeder next to Fox. He can rebound a little bit, though his defense is pretty horrible. But JVG loves smart players, and even game Mark Jackson a little bit of time despite MJ's slow footedness on D. I think he'd be a good replacement for Padgett as the solid part-time rotation player who can play both forward spots. If we sign Luke and trade Steve we would officially be Bill Walton's favorite team of all time (imagine if we hadn't traded Richard Jefferson). I don't know if that's a good or bad thing
I don't see him on the free agent list at all guy: http://www.nba.com/news/Free_Agents-109163-571.html if that were the case, I'd love to have him. duh, no brainer, him and yao.
I thought since he was a 2nd round pick he was a FA? Anyway, guy reminds me of hardworking role players like Padgett, Brian Cardinal (what happened to the BC Bandwagon?), Robert Horry...just a hardworking guy who isn't necessarily talented, but a good person to have as your 6th-8th guy.
http://users.pandora.be/nbareporter/freeagents20042005.htm According to this he is a FA... Don't know if it's accurate.
I like Luke Waltons game. His inside passing and smart play would be assets to Yao, just as they were to Shaq. Too bad he isn't a free agent.
I'm actually seeing someone right now, but maybe if he swept me off my feet. WTF are we thinking about Luke Walton?? He's the type of player you add in training camp. Right now, we need to focus our positive energy on getting McGrady.
I'd love to have Luke. But, I also like Scott Padgett quite a bit and hope the Rockets keep him. All the guy did was come off the bench and shot 50% or something like that from 3 point range.
