With all with all the hype, drama, rumors, plus fantasies  the draft is bringing (esp. now with only 3 days away)... I wanna know if you would be happy or not if the Rockets did/didn't get a decent draft pick, make a trade, or get anything at all?

If you would be happy please put:

.YES I would be :) if the Rockets... and state your reason why?

If you wouldn't be happy please put:

.NO I would be  if the Rockets... and state your reason why?

If you would feel indifferent about it then (screw you... NO J/K :D ) please stated your reason to why you would feel that way too.

...........................................................................................Hoping to hear what you guys think!..........................................................................

    .NO

All signs point that buying a pick is easier than ever this year. I don't think it'd take as much as Portland has been paying in recent years. Since it's 'only' a matter of money, and a reasonable amount at that, I expect them to get it done.

I'd be ok if we got nothing. I don't know how much a late round talent will help us if that is what we get. If we move into the top 10 then, sure, I would probably be happy then. But if we end up with nothing, not a huge deal to me. That means Morey didn't force a deal that wasn't there, but also with that said, do I think Morey will just let this draft past us? No. There may be a decent chance something does happen.

I'd be fine with nothing. We need to focus on getting someone with experience, not rookies. Let's work on getting some players (backup center, sg) with 3-7 years exp.

This is a good thread!! It will touch deep into the hearts of rocketz fans. I'd be completely content. I was pizzed out of my mind the last few years, and now I'm finally able to do something about it (other than be pissed). So, if it seems like my "coming out" is kind of random and out of the blue, it's because it is. I mean, just imagine how stupid rafer alstons doubters would look if he did what i'm doing now? (based under the same circumstances...). Just something to think about. Once again, GREAT THREAD, OP. 5 star!!

If we resigned Artest and Wafer, and held on to TMac until February to see how he comes back and/or his trade value as he is about to come back, that might be fine. But the hints from Morey / Les seem to be that they will be trying to make a splash this summer, so standing pat might be their second option. Of course, we will still have to get a backup big.

First of all, there isn't much incentive for teams to do business with us unless we give up something big or useful. Most of the good players will be gone by the end of the 1st round. I won't be disappointed if we don't acquire anyone.

NO. I personally would be pissed cause just like the last trade deadline I thought Ron or Tmac's ass was gone and we were getting some of more value than Tmac(anything). With the rumors speculating all around, I wouldn't be happy if we didn't make a move esp. considering this is Yao's contract year and I believe this is a year that makes us or breaks us.

You're right,it's a make or break year and we need to cover a lot of holes, but it's probably going to cost a lot more than his expiring contract to get someone of true value. That's why my expectations are low.

No, at the very least we need a backup center.

    No.

They seriously need a backup center for Yao like everyone has mentioned. Preferably a young, athletic, mobile, big who has long arms. I would also love to have a solid, veteran, pg.

I have no problem with them standing pat. I feel like they just need a year of good health to really contend. Then again we've been saying this for the last 5 years.

I wouldn't care. Ultimately Morey has more knowledge of what's going on than any of us. We hear one rumor and "OMG THAT TRADE SUX!!!" or "YEAAAAH!" without regard to much else that may be going on behind the scenes. If there are no deals out there to be had or deals that won't end up screwing us, I can't be disappointed we didn't make a deal. I'm only disappointed when we don't do well. One thing I have to put faith in Morey is that he hopefully won't burden us with ridiculous contracts for players that ae washed up 1 year into their multi-year contract (or 1 year before...).

I trust Morey. If we end up with nothing I take that to mean nothing was to be had that would create a clear advantage for the Rockets. It'd be nice to have a 1st round KO, but remember, this is just the first round. There will be other opportunities.

We need to do something. Wasting another another year of our only all-star's prime with a team that has a couple serious holes is a bad idea.
