If we were able to resign Shandon and Mo, draft a decent back up center such as Haywood and then sign Antonio Davis to a contract? That right there is all we need to contend for a playoff spot. ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/houstonrockets2000
That would be my dream summer, although I would love to see Hakeem in the uniform a few more years... ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
Haywood?? HA! I'm telling ya...Rockets miss the playoffs by two games, get the number one pick in the draft in the biggest lottery miracle since the Orlando Magic, then pick Loren Woods.... It has to happen... ------------------ If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!!
Hell yes, I'd be content just to be able to start off fresh next year with the same group of guys we have now. These down-to-the-wire-losses hurt oh-so-bad but they'll soon be avenged - these guys are so close it hurts. Next year, Francis, Mobley, Taylor, and Anderson will be expected to succeed. Brendan Haywood sucks though , so forget that. And I dont think Antonio Davis is a free-agent. A decent Draft pick, who stands above 6-8, and solid trustworthy free-agent will do us just fine. ------------------
I don't like either one of those two guys. Woods looks to fragile and Heywood reminds me of Ostertag or worse. I would much rather see them get one of the athletic youngsters. Woods and Heywood are getting hyped up just like Martin, Fizer, Swift etc. I don't think they will contribute anymore than M., F., & S. so I would much rather have the upside of the young studs. ------------------
Haywood does not suck, he has more potential (especially offensively) than Cato, and he would be cheaper. And Antonio Davis is a free agent. However, I would still rather get Chris Webber. ------------------
Lets not draft for potential. Lets draft for skills. Potential is what is killing the NBA. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
