With his head on straight, he is definitely a top talent in the league.

I think we could get him for Bonzi, Head and Juwon (or a similar deal), although I'm not sure how the salarys match up.

I was thinking about this last night- would we really want him back? Realisticly, how would that effect the team chemistry and dynamic? We're coming together nicely now, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Of course, if he's humble enough to do his part, he would boost this team to elite status. With TMac's decline (and he has declined), he has a shot to be tied as the #2 option on the team, and that ain't bad. Having three potentally prolific scorers would drive other team's defenses batty. On the other hand, if he's nursing hurt feelings, he could be a HUGE cancer.

I voted for yes, but it would be a leap of faith.

For how much he's making there no way in hell I would.

If he got cut and wanted to come here for much much less, I'd consider it.

For the vet's minimum? Hell yes! Francis is still one of the most explosive talents in the league and he plays all out. If he agrees to the vets minimum and comes in with his head on straight, I'd take him back in a heartbeat.

Ha ha- Head the player, sure. We gotta give them some value somewhere. That also frees up some time for Novak and Kill Bill. That's a decent package for them.

A fellow Rowdy and I talked about this last night. I would take him in an instant for the MLE, but not for a trade if he was still on his max contract. He would be a fantastic PG for us, but is not worth Head, Novak, and the other talent we would have to give up to take on his current contract.

Head (~1M), Bonzi (~2.1M), and JHo's (~6.3) contracts aren't even remotely close to the 15M that Francis makes this year. We would also have to give up roughly 5.5M in other salary to make the deal work. Francis is not worth gutting our newfound depth.

OBVIOUSLY you take Francis back at the vets min particularly if he wanted to come here.

But I'm glad we don't have to make that choice cause Francis could potentially screw up this team if he's playing PG. Honestly, I like Rafer better Steve cause Rafer doesn't dribble the ball off his foot when there is 2 minutes left in the game and just dribbled 20 seconds off the shot clock. <SHUDDER> If that situation should arise, I'd put Stevie at SG. Stevie as our starting PG for this team would be a nightmere.

Head is already playing well with team and you want to trade him because you want to see two rookie guys play? A perfectly selfish formula for disaster.

nope. weighing chemistry, attitude, etc. Wouldnt bother. By the way, does he still think of the Toyota center as the house that he built?

yes and no. Depends what he thinks his roll is... THis isnt the old rockets with him running the show, its tmac, to yao and to tmac. Francis is welcomed if he gets the idea that he will be playing as the third/fourth option... At least hes got chemistry with YAO more than many other rockets players do.
