Well obviously we know the Rockets will be getting another star to compliment in the offense.

After looking at the Lakers, I was wondering about this question,

"Would you want both stars to hit their prime at the same time or one before the other?"

If you have both hitting their prime at the same time, your team would be stronger. If you have one younger than the other than one would carry the other.

As long as the ages are within reasonable proximity, I don't think it matters too much. And given other, more important considerations (like talent), I think you take what you can get. If I had my druthers for a team in general, I'd have my two stars the same age. If we're talking about the Rockets' draft pick this year, he's going to have to be younger than Francis.

hmmm...sounds like a conversation I had at alt.binaries.stars.wishlist last night. Except we weren't talking about basketball stars.

    hmmm.... binary stars?

Uhmm, I would rather have One star Franci''''s age and one STAR from this years draft!!!!! Close to the same age, rather. That would be neato.

I would rather have an established star and a younger up and coming star. I think a team can merge much quicker than if you have 2 young stars. This elimantes most of the power struggles between two young stars.

There are good examples of this (the Spurs, the old Lakers) but usually it doesn't occur like that, because typically a team with an established star is going to be a decent team and therefore usually not getting the opportunity to acquire a young star.

Many teams have succedded with 2 young stars (see the old celts w/ McHale & Bird, old Pistons with Dumars & Isiah, Bulls with Jordan and Pip) however if I had my druthers I want an established star and a young future star.

for those who are bored waiting for Francis to take on Kidd, in each of the posts above:

replace the word "team" with "man", and
    the word "star" with "woman"

of course, for the politically correct inclined, you can swap "man" for "woman" above, go with two "wo"s or go for no "wo"s. (hmmm....no "wo"s, is that a gay pun?)
