    and our #1 ( a 5 or 6 i assume

    clips send : lamar odom

I really like lamar's game , and apparently, he has a will to win. Do u think lamar is worth it ?
Or would it actually take more ?

Hmm... Lamar would probably be the best talent in this draft if he came out. Also, our pick probably won't be a top-3 pick (but I'm prayin'), and if it's not a top-3 pick, it will probably be a #4-#6 pick. Wiz means nothing much in the deal. Drew's an average PG. My guess is "no". They'd be crazy to make that deal. But then, it is the Clippers... [IMG]

Oh c'mon, if you want to steal Michael Jordan from the Clips, make a convincing offer.

    Add more first round picks...

Someone make Donald Sterling sell the Clippers so that every other team in the NBA will stop preying on the migrant workers they keep on the payroll.

Someone should buy them and move them to Austin. They can build a new arena where the old airport used to be. I think if Sacto and Orlando can support teams then Austin can too.

If you wanna get Lamar without giving up Stevie I think you'll have to give up our #1 + Cato + Anderson + Drew + Kenny and I still don't think LA would do it.

geez, what was i thinking ? i was kind of drunk though.

Do you guys really think lamaar is a franchise player? I think he's a star/ superstar, but im not totally sold that he could be a franchise type. i haven't watched him too much though.

I would do a : cuttino/ cato and 2 first rounders for lamar. Im a KT fan, and i wouldnt like the thought of giving up him and cuttino for odom.

who is projected to go 6th anyway ? hypothetical, lets say richardson (maybe a reach).
so, it would be richardson, mobley, cato and a #1 for odom. That sounds steep. back to drew and walt.....

The Clippers are under the cap, so they could take on Walt and Cato.

I would maybe do Cato+Walt+LottoPick+(maybe Drew) for Odom and Nesby

I think that might get it done, depending on how high the pick is. The Clippers have a hard time re-signing players, so they would be happy getting the remaining 6 years on Cato's contract (haha! [IMG]). They need a point guard, so Drew could help in that area. Walt could help with the depth issue they are facing. The lottery pick is the backbone of the deal.

    That would leave us with:

    PF Thomas/Rogers
    SF Odom
    C Pig
    SG Anderson/Mobley
    PG Francis/Moochie

You could then trade Nesby with Mobley/Rogers with the $4.5mill exception for a decent frontcourt player.

    I'd do it.

If the Clippers make that trade, they should be banned from basketball. If I'm them, I'm asking for Mobley in that deal. Mobley, Cato, and a 1st rounder to start and then we can work from there.

But Dr., I think we'll need Cato for the Tim Duncan trade, and Mobley for the Grant Hill trade.

Either way, this 'let-em play' routine will prove/allow for a number of things:

    1) we have 8 players that can score 20+ points 'a' (a certain) night.

    2) after the draft and this tanking, we'll have 9 players that can score 20+ points 'a' (a certain) night.

This offseason has alot of potential to be fun.

People you guys have to realize Clips think their whole future(which is not much) is Lamar Odom. They are going to build around him. This guy is worth as much as MJ was to the Bulls. Odom's value to the Clips is much more than his worth.

I'm not sure even if we offered everyone other than Francis plus our picks we could get Odom. That's how much Odom is worth to the Clips.

    Rocketsfan34,

Welcome back from the mall, man. And I agree with everything you said. People that think our first and Cato is going to get him are way off (sorry veggiehead... [IMG] ).

I agree with rocketsfan34. No way that the Clips take a deal like Cato+Mobley (or Walt Williams)+1st round pick. If I'm the Clips, here's what I'm thinking:

I like Olowokandi much better than Cato. I wouldn't trade them straight up.

Derek Anderson is better than Cuttino Mobley. I'm already deeming Anderson as not worth signing, so why would I want his lesser?

Replacing Tyrone Nesby with Walt Williams doesn't make my team better one iota!

Therefore, in effect, I'd be trading my BEST player (one with unlimited potential) and Tyrone Nesby for two players (Cato and Cat/Wiz) that I wouldn't want to replace my existing players and a potentially average lottery pick.

    Let me think...ahhh, NO WAY.

Quick poll : who here actually thinks lamar is a franchise player ? Like a grant hill or a garnett ? Both GH and KG are, and their teams have had moderate success over the years.
If odom isnt a franchise player, would mortgaging the future of the rockets be detrimental for him ?
