we agreed to take on Hinrich's contract along with Salmons and Tyrus? YES I KNOW THAT I WILL PROBABLY GET BASHED FOR THIS, but I just think Noah would be an awesome fit in Houston and will turn out being a 20/10 guy in a year or 2. I know that Chicago has stated they don't want to trade him, but no one is ever "untouchable". I have seen many sources state how Chicago is trying to find a place to trade Hinrich too, but there are no takers except for the Lakers, but since a 3rd party is needed, they may be stuck with him. Rockets have stated they have no interest in Hinrich, but would they do it with the chance of landing Tyrus and Noah? If they think T-mac still can play, they still stay in contention for this year, and will easily have the most cap space. T-mac +Scola + Taylor + 2010 2nd rounder for Noah + Tyrus + Salmons + Hinrich Chicago would shed roughly 25 million in cap space for next season (with 1st trade) or roughly 20 with 2nd, along with the 29 they already coming off the books. 50 or 45 freaking million off the books for next year. Giving them a great shot at signing 2 max contracts. And as stated before stay in contention for this year, and keep a core of Rose, and Deng to add with 2 max FA. With the Rockets it gives them a center for this year, and a back up plan for Yao. Aquiring Tyrus would probably not allow us to re-sign Scola but we would have Tyrus and Landry at PF and Noah and Yao at C. I can promise you that not one person (outside of Lebron) will want to enter the paint with those controlling it. This also gives the Rockets a good amount of cap space for the 2011 season. 12 million shedded by Tyrus and Salmons, along with the 17 from Yao, Chuck 2, Carl 3, and Hayes 2 for a total of 36 million while still retaining Noah, Brooks, Lowry (if resigned ), Ariza, Anderson, and hopefully Landry (if resigned). We would most likely have to pay Carl around 8 million to retain him but that still lives room for a max FA, and then 2 decent signings.
Not a shot...Noah is untouchable and they really only need to get rid of Hinrich or Salmons. Saying that IT WOULD BE SWEEEEEET!!!
I don't think that would be the best use of our resources. The hope would be that Noah becomes a star center, right? But we already have a star center. Noah would be relegated to backup as long as Yao is here. (Noah's contract itself only lasts through next year. After that he's a RFA.) If we're going to take on a bad contract, it seems preferable to do it in an area of significant need, like wing scoring. We shouldn't have to take on a big long-term contract just to get a backup center for Yao.
If the price is right, any GM should realize that no one is un touchable. And sorry about the mention of a 2nd trade in there, not sure how to edit on here.
I like Noah as well but I don't think he will be a 20/10 guy. He just doesn't have enough offensive skills.
Can you say twin towers? If we got Noah, and Yao comes back healthy we would most likely center the team around Yao, and get shooters. We may be able to sign Lowry and still have enough money to go after a good shooting SG, Mike Miller perhaps? Brooks/Lowry Salmons/ Miller Ariza/Battier Landry/ Tyrus Yao/ Noah IMO that's easily a 50 win team.
He may not, but he will be very close. Already averging 11/10 while only taking around 8.5 shots a game shooting 50%.
Noah is a decent role player... but aren't we overhyping him a little? The fact that Chicago is making him untouchable is a bit odd to me.
Noah would be perfect. He can get the offensive rebounds, provide weak side shot blocking, athletic and fluid, and more importantly has the grit and hustle that the Rockets are all about (when they are winning). No he wouldn't get 20/10 but he would make a huge impact. Still though, for me his almost whiny annoying attitude coupled with his horribly ugly face is just too much to bare.
I don't like the guy as a person, but respect his game and would love to have him in a Rockets uniform. If by some wild chance we land him, we need to modify his contract and add no dancing and cut your hair.
Dudes with long hair are average decent at best...that's why players like Jordan Hill is going to be a bust.
What about Bosh ,his hair is about the same as Hill's isn't it? Or are the rules different in Canada?
