I have not seen O.J. Mayo play much and I understand that Memphis (Our favorite trading partner) is looking to move him. It seems that with his most current altercation (fight with Tony Allen over a gambling game) that his stock may have dropped a bit since it is reported that Minnesota is no longer interested in trading for him. Would he be an upgrade to our current rotation? Say if we moved Lee and Budinger for him or Brooks and 2nd Rd. Pick, etc.? Not sure, wanted to know if anyone thinks he can meet the expectations that he came into the league with.
Brooks + filler for Mayo would be opportunistic as can be. I feel as if right now presents a particularly nice opportunity to buy low on Mayo and Granger.
Mayo + Granger for the Rockets would be a much better long-term addition than Dallas acquiring Iggy or Captain Jack.
I think he means he'd rather have Lee at what Lee would cost in the long term vs. Mayo at what Mayo would cost in the long term. Mayo is a serious candidate to get way overpaid in free agency and his offer sheet not matched. I think many GMs realize this. Hence, the relative dampening of Mayo's trade value.
I don't think the difference between kevin martin or OJ mayo is big enough to justify this given that they are both exclusively 2s pretty much so would share that time. I'd rather go all out and try to get granger.
I'd rather have ketchup than mayo... even mustard. And I'd like to see Lee get some serious minutes, like Lowry did this season when AB was out, just to see what he can do on this team when he's burning more than 19 a game. No, I wouldn't want Martin out in order for that to happen, but Lee needs more time on the court, IMO. We need a trade, like a 2-1, 3-1, or 3-2 deal, where we reduce the number of talented players, but have fewer, more talented ones. Sounds groovy to me.
upgrade over Martin. If we got Mayo then I wouldnt mind starting Aaron Brooks over Lowry. We would be set at the 1 and 2 spot. (we're currently not)
Yes. I've read that Brooks stock had dropped because he's going to be a restricted few agent that's expecting a big pay check. The article was from hoopsworld but nonetheless, it does make sense.
