I know Memphis can sign Posey outright, but would they consider a sign and trade to move a contract .... ie Battier?

Just a thought... Battier is a better scorer but needs a little help on the "D" side.

I don't understand the rules, but I think people on this board have been saying that because Posey has signed the offer sheet, a S/T can't be worked out anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong BBS!

true...that has been said by several of the guys that know the rules. they have no reason to lie, so it is probably true.

You can not do a sign and trade once the offer sheet has been signed.

    See Larry Coon's faq.

I didnt say we could...I believ heyp and NIKE and them guys when they say you cant...

besides, the Chron article that Faos just posted mentions it also..

but then again...the Chron is saying the lux tax will be enacted this season...which others here have argued wont happen...unless I misunderstood what they meant..

EDIT: NIKE just re-affirmed in that thread that the Chrons is wrong....luxury tax for this season hasnt been determined yet....

Also, dont forget that we had to go through this with Marc Jackson. Once Golden State matched our offer, he could not be traded to us for 12 months after the contract is matched.

Well the Rockets could offer just alittle more than what the Grizz offered than work out a sign and trade that way?
