I hate to be the one to bring this up... but because the West is so ridiculously overpowered this season, if we barely manage to scrape into the playoffs (which I have every confidence we can do) as the 7th or 8th seed, we'll end up with the 21st or 22nd-ish draft pick.

But if we just barely miss the playoffs (which is also quite possible), all of a sudden we have the #14 pick by default... even though we have a much better record than most East teams, simply because we didn't make the playoffs.

Even without Yao, I really like our team. And with the guys we've got, I even think we have an outside shot of getting out of the first round. But ultimately, there's just no way we're winning it all this year. So what'll it be: #14 pick, or #22 pick and a postseason we're certain to get bounced from anyway?

I'm torn, honestly. I think it would be great for us mentally if we could get out of the first round... but the #14 is a lot nicer than the #22, too. :(

You never know what can happen. The season isn't over yet...it just looks that way.

Time will tell how we play without Yao

We should go for the Playoff experience, especially for all our young guys. It will stand them in good stead next season with Yao and................. :p

Getting the 14th pick could result in a better player than one at the 22nd but honestly it might not result in a major difference either.

I'm down for tanking after we run the streak up to 15-16. We've already proven that this line-up is perfectly capable.

I'm not sure of the players view because they might be of the mindset no matter what "NO LOSING", but from a GM perspective, I'd rather have a chance at some rather capable depth behind Yao.

Obviously this season is the biggest chance of winning it all in a while. They got to keep on fighting until the end. That's our identity; we're warrior now. March in honor of fallen fellow.
