well he cant play D or rebound nor does he have anything that resembles a inside game. So he basicallys has a SF's game right now so I guess it wouldnt be that crazy probaly not the smartest thing to do however
I mean it's pretty obvious he is not going to win the war against: *Garnett *Duncan *Webber *Wallace *Malone *Nowitzki and that's just in the West. So why not just slide him to the 3 spot? He's not as athletic as Posey but he can defend and block shots coming from the weak side. I just see Wallace playing the 3 in the playoffs having me think bout the possibilities I guess.
huh....i thought he was always playin small forward ??? at some times it looked to me like he was tryin to play SG.......BUT yeah, i think it would be wise to keep him at the 3 spot bcuz i think this would sorta be like a confidence booster for him cuz it seems like he has to worry bout playin the top PF's in the league every night. I mean, EG has that streaky shot but i think moving him might just be the answer......OR maybe not. itzIce
Nowitski and Garnett play the majority of their minutes at SF. I can't see Griffin guarding either of them, Peja, Pippen, Harpring, Shawn Marion, Odom or Mike Miller on the perimeter. Can't me for a "No" vote for the SF.
It was just a thought. I tried to find that glimmer...slight glimmer..of hope that he can develop into the player we thought he could be at another position...ahwell
i have won multiple consecutive championships (7) in nba live 2003 and nba 2k3 (3) with a starting lineup of: Tony Parker Francis Griffin Taylor Yao with mobley, cato and Posey coming off the bench. Works in the game...why can't it work in real life?
Posey's better at the 3. Bench him, bring him off the bench at the 3 and 4, once he starts getting consistent, insert him back.
Same here ... I have won 5 consecutive championships on NBA2K3 with Griffin at the 3 and Nachbar at the 4 ... Both seemingly play better at those positions for some reason
while i don't agree with eg at the 3, he did a pretty good job on kg this year (well as good as one can do). he can't be bullied by kg (eddie's biggest weakness against 4's) and he's got kg's greatest strength, length. one of the few quality people eddie wouldn't get killed by. of course the one game he was doing best, minny left him open at least 3 straight times and he bricked them all, so mo had to come in, then it was smooth sailing for kg on offense.
This is just me here, but I think it would be crazy to start EG at any position right now. Maybe later, but he has done nothing but disappoint IMHO.
By the way, I have also won multiple rings on NBA LIVE 03 with the all Maryland Terp line-up Steve Francis Walt Williams Terence Morris Chris Wilcox Joe Smith Bench of Juan Dixon Obina Ekezie Lonny Baxter Laron Profit Why don't we just do this? Hey, if its in the game...
griffin isn't fast enough to guard the 3. we saw that last year, when he played some time at the 3, and if he plays the 3, he wil have to do what every 3 does in houston, wait outside the 3pointline and shoot the 3 if he get a look. i want him to develop an inside game, not become another Horry (wuthout the clutch), or bullard (no disrespect for Air Bull)
Eddie Griffin has none of the skills needed to play SF except a mediocre three point shot. Yes, it would be crazy
It's funny, a year ago I think many fans were split on whether Eddie is a 3 or a 4. But now I think most of us believe his position is a 4. I don't think Eddie has the quickness to be a 3. Right now Eddie's greatest asset is his shotblocking and by putting him at the 3 you are taking that away so I would have to say that he needs to stay at the 4 spot. He just needs to improve his game and put on weight.
I dont like him at the 3 or the 4. I am not sure he will ever be a good 3, because I am assuming that it is what he wants to be judging from all the shots he yanks. He obviously wants to shoot so he must work on it, and he still can not do it. So my opinion is he will never be a good 3 (not saying he cant play some minutes there). With a ton of work he could be a good 4 so I think you have to keep him there. The question is will he work? I say hes got one or two more years prove himself there, then you can say hes a flop. I think a huge problem with the team is that we had 3 4s that were not solid 4s at the start of the year. At the end of the year we had 2. Taylor is a good backup at that spot and right now so is Eddie. Will Eddie work?..... that is the question.
Yeah, I believe he's more of a 3 than 4. He simply doesn't have the body, the post-up game, or the hustle to bang at the 4. Gosh darn it, I keep leaning more & more towards wanting to start both Cato & Yao. Put Eddie on the bench. When MoT comes in, one of the two centers stays. Then sub Eddie in for the SF (Posey?). We don't lose any height & we don't necessarily suffer on D. His blocks generally come from the weak side. He doesn't block his own man's shot. So I actually think his blocks may improve by sliding to the 3. Plus he can roam/lurk that way. So my vote is for EG to move to the bench, playing 2nd string 3.
