On the NBA website, the playoff schedule (bottom of page) show that a lot of the games are being broadcast on each team's local TV station.

If we would have made the playoffs, would we have gotten the games on local TV (KNWS 51 or WB39) with Bill and Calvin making the call?

There aren't any links to back that up. It is common knowledge that local announcers call playoff games, except for the ones on ABC (NBC in the past).

Kevin Harlan, or is it Harland?

I can't stand Tolbert, and Ainge. Those two really piss me off.

I like Van Gundy, but he has been getting on my nerves lately. Yesterday, he called Greg Ostertag "underrated". I mean, come on...

I see. Maybe common knowledge here, but last time the Rockets made the playoffs I was living in Beaumont, where it wasn't common knowledge, I don't think.

Thanks. Admins, please close this thread. Immediately.

The NBA makes the call on which games are exclusive to the national broadcaster and which ones aren't -- it's one of the things they negotiate when the national TV deals are signed.

The Lakers-Wolves game on ABC would be a national exclusive. No local broadcast in LA or Minn. Many of the other games are non-exclusive, so they're both on ESPN and a local carrier for the two teams playing for example.

And, yes, if we had made it, it would've been Bill and Calvin on our non-exclusive games.

It'd better have been Bill and Calvin. I would have shot my TV if I had to listen to that blowhard Bill Walton call the Rockets games. Each time that they played the Lakers on ESPN, I had to switch the channel to 53 to hear Bill and Calvin.

"Shaq is turning into a great free throw shooter!" SHUT THE **** UP. YOU ARE WRONG. STOP RIDING SHAQ'S NUTS AND ACTUALLY CALL THE GAME INSTEAD OF COMMENTING ON HOW GREAT THE LAKERS ARE, OR HOW MUCH SHAQ IS THAN *insert player here*.

Are you really that stupid to believe him? The average IQ of Walton haters, who hate him because they take him seriously, is in the single digits.

Walton does this with every team and player in the NBA. It isn't just the Lakers. I guess you've never seen him call a Rockets game, when he constantly heaps praise on Yao.

You are the definition of a "mental midget".
