New Jersey Nets: Free-agent forwards Damone Brown and Darius Rice have been waived.

Rice, the nephew of NFL star receiver Jerry Rice, averaged 2 points in seven games. Brown appeared in five exhibition games, averaging 1 point.

Both players were signed before the opening of training camp.

.......... Darius Rice ability to hit the outside shot, along with him being 6' 10 he could help with the bigger 3's in the league.

Darius Rice must feel horrible right now, he was going to enter the draft straight out of high school and most thought he would get picked in the middle to the end of the first round. He thought a year in college would help him raise his stock, he ended up going back for four straight years, never really improving much at Miami and he ends up not getting drafted. It's funny how that goes, he wasn't ever that good in high school, but he had people talking because he was a mobile 6'10" player who had Kevin Garnett like potential like Darius Miles and Jonothan Bender.

Oh and pass on both of them, neither of them improve the team.
