Hes a liability on defense and even on offense, I am not really sure what hes good for. I hope he proves me wrong but as of right now, I think we should cut him.

Well, if it was me, I probably would not cut him.. however, I do recall seeing it reported that Rockets' management was so disillusioned with his play last year after getting the big $ that they themselves are now seriously considering moving him at all costs, even including the extremely rare instance of cutting a player with a guaranteed contract.

Hopefully though, he will turn himself around, a la Cato, and make himself into someone we actually don't feel horrible about keeping and paying.

This would be the year to do it though. I believe that if he has another year this coming year akin to the one he had last year, the team, especially with the no-nonsense JVG at the helm, WILL cut him loose, and eat the money if they have to.

    ciao

He needs this year [under JVG] to show what he can do. Now he doesnt have to answer to Francis and Rudy only JVG,so we could see a new Moochie!

No, one Baloney was enough. If nothing else, he could help with the team laundry or something.

    Hasn't this been discussed recently?

Depends on who we have available to replace him with. If he gets beat out by Jason Miskiri and ? then he needs to be cut. If we don't sign a backup point then we keep him.

I know this goes against the grain of some of the people on this board, but Moochie may have also been a victim of coaching decisions or non-decisions and not just poor play.

I also think that EG went outside to shoot 3's because the coaches were trying to get his man (PF) away from the basket so Yao could get more rebounds since he didn't position himself very well.

People have liked Moochie longer than they have hated him, give him another chance. He works well with Yao Ming BTW.

I was wondering why Mooch didn't play on the Summer league... It would show some dedication and would give him a leg up on learning Van Gundy's system.

Too soon to cut moochie. Give him 1 year under JVG and if it doesn't work out, we'll send JVG to attack his ankles.:p

Moochie will not be on this team next season!! He is the total OPPOSITE of a JVG type of PG.

Moochie just plain sux! I would be shocked if JVG did not bring in a defensive PG to backup Francis.

But those two showed potential...it just so happens that Vin Baker went through a depression and Joe Smith just panned out (he does contribute to the T Wolves).

ummm, no. the coach he was apparently a victim of would be the same one under who he had his best season ever, under whom he stuck on a team for the first time, and for whom he was a spark plug type guy who got the big contract in the first place. he sucked b/c he was fat and b/c zones killed him and now he's terrible. he has to turn it around or he should never see the court again.

according to this board these days, there is nothing JVG can't do. he is in fact a God-like being. when FA's or trades are brought up, every player is either a JVG type player or JVG will turn him into one. our defense will definitely be better, our offense obviously better, and each and every individual player will no doubt be better in each and every facet of the game, and now this. i expect no less than a decline in global warming and terrorism now that JVG is our coach and people don't have to answer to francis.

Norris is deep on the bench coming out of camp. Backup PG's are pass and defense guys or in the rare case a guy who is the real deal waiting for his shot. Norris is neither one of those. Since he is costing so much you are tempted to keep him on the team but you have to ask yourself,"for what". He is going to grow a half a foot, learn to play D (after all this tiime playing ball)? No way! Cut your losses and get a guy in here with some NBA talent and size at the minimum salary and have a shot at having a backup NBA PG in a year or two.

Come on, JVG will give the guy asskick if he is still doing the silly dribbile-clock game. Well, I vote to give him at least a chance all the way to the All-Star break, then make a decision to pack him right away even for some other PGs like Bob Sura.

You have to have 3 or less years NBA experience or be a free agent trying to make the training camp roster to play in the Summer League.
