So which state do you think is the worst to live in? My vote goes to Utah and not just because of the Jazz but because of their strictness on everything in that state.
Utah? Uh oh, where's Achebe? I think the state I would least like to live in would be...Delaware... This reminds me of Wayne's World. Anyone have that movie line handy from when they jump from state to state and land on Delaware?
Socially Utah is about as exciting as corn. I'm a ski bum though, and I just can't deny the fun I've had on their slopes. So Rhode Island gets my vote, lacking every form of entertainment and night life.
Hi, were in Delaware. But my vote would have to be Alaska. California cold doesn't bother me, Alaska cold I could certainly do without.
I would put California on that list for sure. Too many problems, too many rights they take away there compared to other states...
My vote would be Mississippi ..... everytime I think of that state the movie Deliverance comes to mind
California? Granted I haven't been to every state, but there are alot of great places to live in California. The weather is SoCal is nice pretty much year-round, especially in San Diego. LA is nice, but certainly too trafficky. Still, the state has beaches, mountains, deserts, forests all within reasonable driving distance. Frisco is also an awesome city, exceptionally well laid out and with great public transportation. If I had to pick a worst state, it'd probably be Mississippi. High poverty, poor quality of education, low per capita income.
Is there an icon for becoming so mad that your head explodes??? DBC, are you old enough to even know anything about UT??? Besides, if you truly have the edge, then I don't think that you'd have any trouble having fun here. Hell, I'm not straight edge, and I have more fun here than I could imagine having anywhere else. If someone ever posits the question "would you die for your country?" my hand is forced by the good things here in UT, not the boring bs that makes up most of the rest of the US. BTW, it's dumping here. Enjoy your I Love Lucy and Nascar and strip malls. I've been in knee-waste deep since Thanksgiving. .|.. ..|.
i'd have to say arkansas, just because of my experience. my wife is from there, and there is simply nothing to do there unless you really enjoy outdoor sports a whole lot (hunting, fishing, etc)..which I really don't. plus...taxes assessed every year on personal property (autos, boats, etc)...income taxes...property values that make you thankful you're a Houstonian...and absolutely no option among public schools -- if you care a lick about your kids education, you're forced to dole out for private school.
I would have to say Wyoming, well not the North west part but you can have the rest, its always windy, never rains, I once saw that it had the highest percentage of alchoholics, mostly because there is nothing to do there, everyone has "wiskey dents" in their trucks. but northwest wyo is real nice.
I live in California , Believe me it sucks , All these freakin Tree huggers take away our beaches for some peice of dirt Bird . Our County Supervisior Fires a City Coucil Member for saying the pledge of allegience (Im sure some of you CNN buffs saw this) . Now Western Utah I would not want to live in , Eastern Utah there is some nice country .
lil pun...are you from there originally?? grow up there??? where in ark do you live?? what are your problems with it -- why do you echo my sentiments?
I wouldn't live anywhere in the deep south , for a variety of reasons. I would prefer to live west of the Mississippi. Colorado, Texas, California, Oregon, Arizona, Washington all have it's pluses.
Its a Jazz thing Heb, don't take it personal. Utah is a beautiful place and they do have some amazing entertainment, but c'mon, the Utah Jazz. Also, I actually am straight edge (unless it comes to my anti inflamatories and pain killers) so it was refreshing to see an atmosphere not dominated by heavy drinking.
I'd hate to live in Alabama. I've only driven through it once, but I didnt' see a single thing I liked.
MadMax, I was born in Arkansas and have lived here for my 21 years of existence. I live in Jonesboro, AR (The place where the second worst school shooting happened ) My problems with it are what you named basically plus there are more. That's why I echo your comments.
