Does anyone actually like this movie or thought it was well made? Yeah I know this movie is 15 years old, but I never had seen "Any Given Sunday" and now I know why this film is the worst Barry Switzer as a color guy? Oliver Stone as a PBP? Cameron Diaz as the owner? this movie was horrible .....at least they could have taught Jamie Fox the basics of throwing a football so he looked somewhat believable and what was with the uniforms of the "knights"? red and yellow? move over Air Bud
Really? I think "The Replacements" was far worse; I only watched a few minutes of it befor I had to turn it off though.
Baseketball? The Fan Caddyshack II Rollerball The Babe The Replacements Ladybugs The Air Up There i think thats enough!
I thought The Babe was an ok movie. One of those movies I watch anytime I am up at 2am and watching the late late late night movie on some independent channel. Seriously, that movie wasn't bad was it? Maybe I have bad taste in sports movies.
I loved Any Given Sunday. It was over the top, for sure, but I loved it when I first saw it. The hard hits, the music, the women, and Steamin' Willie Beaman. He could kick Vince Young's ass.
Any Given Sunday and The Replacements were both pretty good, I though. How much does it cost to get the rights to NFL logos and names compared to NBA or MLB? For some reason, football movies usually have fake teams, while baseball or basketball movies usually have real teams. Love and Basketball was pretty bad...it definitely had one of the worst love scenes I've ever seen in a movie, sports or otherwise...
The Replacement is a perfect example of a guilty pleasure movie...on paper it's probably mediocre at best...but dammit if I don't like watching it every time it comes on TBS! Any Given Sunday seemed a little overdramaticized; overexaggerated...just mediocre. Ladybugs is nothing compared to... Here's a couple of others that definitely deserve recognition:
This is the worst sports movie of all time. Hell, it may rank up there as one of the worst movies of all time period...
The Program was pretty bad. Hard to believe they could pile that many cliches into 1 movie. One thing I hate is when football movies have guys flying around like Tecmo Superbowl after they get hit. Please have some realistic football action.
C'mon, Steamin' Willie Beamen... "I'm just trying to win some games"... That movie is one of my favs...You have to watch it a couple of times to appreciate the humor and reality of everything...I hear athletes liked this because it was true to life... Rudy...yes, that movie was ghey...I haven't seen Mr. 3000, but didn't think it would be that good...
Oh yeah, I haven't seen it yet, but I think I can safely assume that Crossover is the worst sports movie of all time...
I watched the film with my g.f at the time. In the locker room scene where one of the players are naked- my g.f suddenly said "that's huge" to me in the middle of the movie. I suddenly felt inadequate.
